To Rupert he directs one final comment. "Do not worry, sir. You have made no mistake hiring us."
Oirhandir inwardly winced at the comment. Hadn't he said something exactly like that to Rupert, just days earlier?

That said, Razir turns with a dashing swirl of his cloak, tips an imaginary hat at Oirhandir and swaggers out of the room.
Oirhandir grins, nods, and touches the brim of his hat in return. "An odd fellow", he thought, "not at all like Eruin, yet one who promises to make this journey...interesting." And the fact that he knew the High Tongue, as befitted the better part of the half-human's ancestry, contributed to the elf's regard for the rogue with the rasping voice.
Oirhandir knew that Rupert would be good to his word. Rather than return to the Red Dragon, he spent the night at Rupert's, taking a few hours of trance while Calamar slept. Already the mage's color was improving, although it would still be a few days before he could travel. By then, Oirhandir hoped to be back at Rupert's with as much treasure as the animals could carry...1/60th of which would be his. He hoped he would get the same small horse that he had rode out on the first time...the animal had served him well, and he could cover more miles with a beast of his own than with only his feet. As the realms of his existance folded about him in trance, he wondered if Norman would once again accompany the band. If there was any hope of building the lad's character, this would do it!
A few hours later, the trance-world unfolded back into mundane reality, and Oirhandir woke Eruin and Katherine to say good-bye. He entered Rupert's courtyard to find the pack-train almost ready. Perfect timing...he had just enough time before the rest of the party should be arriving to look through the packs and reacquaint himself with what provisions were stored where. As he pawed through the various bags, inspecting the contents and then resealing them, he wondered if Rogier had been able to wrangle the "extra supplies" he had been thinking of from Rupert, and if so, just where they had been placed.
The eastern horizon brightened, and just minutes before the sun would rise, Oirhandir heard a knock on the courtyard gate. He turned to see one of Rupert's servents open it to allow one of his new company to enter.
