The Treasure of the Tierra Padre... [Knight Otu Judging]

"The dragons," he continues, "were certainly the impetus that originally drew so many adventurers to the city. There are many tales of dragon slayings that detail magnificent hordes recovered. There also several tales that don't mention a horde at all. There are, however, none that tell of the death of a dragon, and a horde that was left behind... After all, if you went out and tookl the trouble killed a dragon but couldn't find its horde, would you tell anyone? Hah! I'd think not."

"And yet, you did find such an abandoned horde?" Razir whispers intrigued.

I am for one eager to go have a look at it, there may after all there may be much to learn if not much to loot if only half of these dragon-tales are true he ponders.

Looking around at the assembled Adventurers he tries to discern if the group is set.

"Iire lye auta?"² he murmurs, the elven tongue being alot smoother for his raw throat.

"We haven't found it yet," Rupert pointedly retorts.

"As soon as possible, if not earlier," Rupert urges. "Time is wasting."

Oirhandir follows the exchange between Razir and Rupert, sensing just the right moment to intervene.

"The hour is late, and some of our party may have duties to attend to. I suggest that we all meet back here promptly at dawn, and depart immediately thereafter." With a nod to his patron, he adds, "Rupert, if the animals and a groom could be ready to leave at first light, that would help us make haste."

"Hugggh? You want lie? Lie down? Me could help with that. Smash-in-face make lie down really quick" says Gath, somewhat nonchalantly.

"Ah ok! He mean lie in bed. Yes, rest tonight, smash good and early tomorrow."

GPEKO - just remembered something I noticed in Bastards while you were away. As a multiclassed Barbarian/Fighter, you'd normally be literate. I assume you want to keep the illiteracy for flavor and logic reasons (since it would be hard to learn reading in the situations you were in)?)
Correct. I knew that rule but I just don't find it logical that Gath would suddenly becomes literate simply because of a fighter level (picked for meta-gaming reasons
:o :p ). He might learn to read later, if someone is patient enought to teach him. But even then, he would be very bad at it.

"An eminently suitable suggestion, my dear fellow. Everything will be ready at the appointed hour."

"Very well. I'll be ready." To Rupert he directs one final comment. "Do not worry, sir. You have made no mistake hiring us."

"Not quite that, no" the Half-Elf answers absentmindedly with his strained voice.

"Ah ok! He mean lie in bed. Yes, rest tonight, smash good and early tomorrow."

Pausing a moment to study the brute more carefully, he adds with a slippery smile.
"But since there are a few hours left to the night, why don't you let me buy you a few mugs of ale? My throat certainly could certainly use some smoothing liquid."

That said, Razir turns with a dashing swirl of his cloak, tips an imaginary hat at Oirhandir and swaggers out of the room.

Forgive my ignorance, but I don't quite get this.
We all just head back to the Inn and hang out there for a bit longer or we just make a time-jump in this adventure?

"Humm ... Yeah, me could use Gloobuck* before leaving. Good, you buy! Rupert, we be here tomorrow!" He says before leaving with his newfound 'friend'.

OOC: Yeah, we'll probably just time-jump, like in a normal game. Unless there is something you want to do with Gath (Like steal his money once he's drunk  )

Oirhandir inwardly winced at the comment. Hadn't he said something exactly like that to Rupert, just days earlier?

Oirhandir grins, nods, and touches the brim of his hat in return. "An odd fellow", he thought, "not at all like Eruin, yet one who promises to make this journey...interesting." And the fact that he knew the High Tongue, as befitted the better part of the half-human's ancestry, contributed to the elf's regard for the rogue with the rasping voice.

Oirhandir knew that Rupert would be good to his word. Rather than return to the Red Dragon, he spent the night at Rupert's, taking a few hours of trance while Calamar slept. Already the mage's color was improving, although it would still be a few days before he could travel. By then, Oirhandir hoped to be back at Rupert's with as much treasure as the animals could carry...1/60th of which would be his. He hoped he would get the same small horse that he had rode out on the first time...the animal had served him well, and he could cover more miles with a beast of his own than with only his feet. As the realms of his existance folded about him in trance, he wondered if Norman would once again accompany the band. If there was any hope of building the lad's character, this would do it!

A few hours later, the trance-world unfolded back into mundane reality, and Oirhandir woke Eruin and Katherine to say good-bye. He entered Rupert's courtyard to find the pack-train almost ready. Perfect timing...he had just enough time before the rest of the party should be arriving to look through the packs and reacquaint himself with what provisions were stored where. As he pawed through the various bags, inspecting the contents and then resealing them, he wondered if Rogier had been able to wrangle the "extra supplies" he had been thinking of from Rupert, and if so, just where they had been placed.

The eastern horizon brightened, and just minutes before the sun would rise, Oirhandir heard a knock on the courtyard gate. He turned to see one of Rupert's servents open it to allow one of his new company to enter.
