Rogier takes a few steps aside, hoping to foul the aim of his enemy. Once again he concentrates to focus in on the evilness of the creature that attacks him from the cover of the blinding fog. The presence of Evil again assaults his senses, but it will take time to pinpoint its source.

The chirping purr followed by a cough repeats itself from somewhere up above, and another gobbet of acidic liquid flies out of the mist. It misses narrowly and hurtles through the air periliously close to Rogier's ear.

Homing in on the creature's strange calls, Rogier believes that it must be about twenty feet up in the air, and not quite directly over his head.

Round 3:

Initiative Order:
19 Rogier
13 Unknown Evil

Combat Summary: Rogier uses Detect Evil and can sense the presence of Evil when looking up. Rogier successfully makes a DC 20 Listen check (18 +2 = 20) to pinpoint the creature's current location. Another small blob of acid misses Rogier from above for no damage.

Rogier is still at 17 hp.

Iggy swims another ten feet down the tunnel. He's just about half way down the tunnel. The light at the end of the tunnel flickers and wavers breifly, and becomes just a bit dimmer.

Round 3:

Swim check: 16 -1 = 15.

Rogier steps back to the edge of the pool of water from which he emerged. He continues focusing on the source of evil, the details of its nature becoming increasingly clear.

Again the chirping cough, and a blob of acid flies out of the mist. It hits Rogier square in the forehead as he directs his evil-sense upward. The the liquid sears as it runs back through his scalp and hair, but Rogier ignores the intense pain and keeps his concentration firmly planted on the evilness lurking above.

His ears becoming accustomed to the odd echoes of the cavern, Rogier can pick out a faint flapping, like bat wings, about twenty feet up in the air, and not quite directly over his head... Approximately from the same spot he previously heard the chirping purr.

Round 4:

Initiative Order:
19 Rogier
13 Unknown Evil

Combat Summary: Rogier uses Detect Evil and can sense the presence of a single faint Evil aura when looking up. Another small blob of acid hits Rogier from above for 3 points of acid damage. Due to damage sustained, Rogier successfully makes a DC 13 Concentration check (11 +2 = 13) to maintain his Detect Evil spell. Rogier successfully makes a DC 20 Listen check (19 +2 = 21) to pinpoint the creature's current location.

Rogier is now at 14 hp.

Urgency forces Iggy another ten feet along the underwater tunnel. The light at the end of the tunnel flickers again, and then brightens back to its previous intensity.

Beneath him, trailing ahead along the floor of the tunnel, Iggy spots the other frayed end of Rogier's rope.

Round 4:

Swim check: 17 -1 = 16.
Spot check: 16 -1 = 15.
