The Treasure of the Tierra Padre... [Knight Otu Judging]

Then to Rupert, "Thank you again, for this opportunity. You won't be disappointed."

Following the example of his colleague, Eruin begins to slowly gather his possessions. Turning to the group's newly found patron, he nods slowly and solemnly.

Thank you, sir. May Verdante bless the road that lies ahead and may we soon meet again...wiser and wealthier.

Eager to return to the wild that Eruin has grown to call home, he does not wait for the gentleman's response. With a quick turn of his cape, he exits the back room, returning to the boisterous company of the tavern...

Seeing how everyone started preparing themselves, Rogier decides he should follow that example. He greets Rupert, walks back to his room in the Tavern, and packs his stuff. After that he moves to the stables where he was supposed to meet the rest of the group, fully packed and equiped.

A sullen youth stands outside of the Inn at the head of a train of riding horses and a pack mule. The mule is loaded with shovels, picks, mauls, buckets, casks of water, sacks of food, tents, bedrolls and other sundry provisions and equipment suitable for an overland wilderness trek.

OOC: Roll call!

Spotting the horses in front of the Inn, Rogier thinks to himself Ah, this must be for us.
He walks over to the the person keeping an eye on everything, and introduces himself:
"Rogier Goodwill, hired by Sir Vaneelkelen, at your service. I believe we were to group here?"

Katherine walks out of the inn, still in the proccess of braiding and coiling up her damp hair out of her way. She has changed into a sturdy outfit with many pockets and loops to hold her whip and crossbow, and as promised her boots are scuffed and a bit worn. She spots Rogier and the group of horses and gives a quick wave before going into the stables and emerging with a patient pony. "This is Nibbles" she says cheerfully to the paladin, "And I'm Katherine," she adds to the youth holding the horses. "I've been naming my ponies Nibbles since I was seven and I just can't seem to stop." She gives the boy a cheerful grin, hoping to shake him out of his glumness, and gestures to the heavily loaded mule. "Nibbles can take a bit of the load off of this fellow for now, and he can help with the goodies on the way back."

Oirhandir exits the Red Dragon and approaches the sour-faced youth. He thinks for a moment...among men, the proper greeting would be a handshake, wouldn't it? He extends his hand and smiles warmly as he announces, "I am Oirhandir, and I presume you would be Rupert Vaneelkelen's nephew?" Broadening his smile just a bit, he adds, "Although I do not recall what he said your name was."

Following Oirhandir, Eruin approaches the youth, searching for a family resemblance between the man and their recently introduced patron...

"Alas, it is not important...who else could he be?" the adventurer mused.

Shuffling toward the mule, Eruin examines the various and sundry goods carried by the beast with an eye as to what he might need.

"Would you happen to have additional arrows for a bow?" he asks the youth.

"Well bags," exclaimed Calamar the dark as he reached the group, "I bet that merchant didn't even give us any alchemist fire. Oh well, let's be off when every one is ready."

The boy mumbles something vaguely affirmative.

"I already packed it once, I'm not moving anything," the boy complains.

"Nibbles is a stupid name for a horse."

"Norman," he scowls ignoring the proferred hand.

"There's spare quivers packed in there somewhere, but I'm not digging them out now," he grumbles.

A sizable half-gallon clay jug hangs precariously from one side of the pack mule. It is painted with red stripes and is emblazoned with the label 'FLAMMABLE'

"You seem quite unhappy Norman. Any special reason why you're acting so grumpy?" Rogier tosses the boy a goldpiece, and he hopes to make the boy a little more happy about his job.

"Well hello there Nibbles." says Rogier as he pets the pony. "Are you ready for a journey like this?" he asks he pony with a smile. "Of course you are."

Walking over to a horse, Rogier hops in the saddle and he walks it around a bit. "It isn't anything like flying on a Gryffon like last time I went on an adventure, but certainly is good to be back in the saddle again. I suggest we waste no time and get ready to move, the further we can get today the better.
