Yeah the titles are working but what’s in them is probably settled. Curious what new type of spell means

(I kid, but I actually didn't hate this concept.)

I will point out that if it was in 3rd edition, it’s technically not new.![]()

It really depends on what they mean by "new"...say, "new to 5E" is different from "new to the FR" or "new to D&D writ large".I will point out that if it was in 3rd edition, it’s technically not new.

My impression at thw tike of the direct, which might just be my interpretation, was that they mean some sort of Spells that are not in the 8 Schools...so, "new to 5E".
Well, that's the question, innit..?What kind of Spells would not be in the 8 schools?
Maybe Planar schools, like how some 3rd party D&D products have like Elemental schools like fire/water/wind/earth schools.
Could it also be shadow weave magic or did they get rid of that?
Anyone who is converting the martial maneuvers from Tome of Battle for 5e could probably use the Combat Traditions in Level Up as a guide on how to do that. The martial maneuvers from "Tome of Battle" should be easier to be adapted to 5e, but the reload of the crusader.
