It's wild seeing this kind of talk out in the wild even just concerning teenagers hurling eggs into the school parking lot for grades.
...am I wrong? If you'd done that then you'd have gotten your A and achieved your objective. But instead you allowed yourself to be controlled by a weak and ineffectual leader.

Me? If I have a problem, I just want to solve it. I'm not really going to sweat the details as long as my objective is achieved.

That is precisely the flaw in your reasoning. You are given excessive weight to the “authoritarian leader” that knew what he was doing, while dismissing the “authoritarian leader” that was an idiot.
