Interesting.

The Wachowski brothers were originally going to produce King Conan: Crown of Iron after finishing the Matrix trilogy. But I think that Arnold running for Governer of CA pretty much threw a wrench in that plan. Sigh.

This new project does sound cool, though. I'll definately keep an eye on it.

Personally I hope they do an Elric pic AND Coldfire Trilogy. I LOVE that series.

I don't see why it's so important to see Arnold as Conan. Me, I'd much rather see Robert De Niro do the part or why not some younger talent? I mean it's easier to get the necessary upper body strength than the acting ability required.

Yeah but come on, who else can belt out lines like "And here the lamentations of the women" and make you both laugh AND feel fear.

Besides De Neiro is better off working with Sorcase and those guys.

Arnold is Conan. I couldn't imagine anyone else playing the character, though I wonder if he can get the brooding intensity and fearsome presence of his original Conan.

I'm with Nightfall and Celtavan. Arnold is Conan, and it just wouldn't be the same if someone else were cast as the mighty Cimmerian. Sure, there are lots of actors out there, and there are lots of muscleman out there, but there's just something about Arnold's physical presence, accent, and demeanor that makes him perfect for roles like the Terminator and Conan.

I dread the day that Arnold announces his retirement, for Hollywood will have lost one of it's most iconic and influental action stars ever.

I agree, Arnold embodies the essence of Conan, and I would not want to see anyone else playing the part. I think Arnold should focus on his movie career for a few more years before taking up politics.

I completely agree with your last statement. My hope is, much like those that came before him, Arnold will keep making movies and doing stuff even if he has done his stint for goverment. I want him to end up like the greats, Eastwood, the Duke, and uhm..I know there's one more.
