Oh my gosh...may I go out on a limb and say that this will be the greatest thread ever???
Ok, for my pick to win...
Well, Superman is pretty cool. He can fly, he's got them crazy lazer beam eyes, that cool uniform, and the whole invulnerability thing.
The Earth. Well, what can I say about the Earth. I live there. You do too. It has stood the test of time and is still kicking.
Sauron. Way macho. Looking wicked cool swinging that huge mace in the prologue to FOTR. Wanted to rule Middle Earth. (It would have been nice to have the elves knocked down another peg or two...)
A Stormtrooper. Talk about spiffy armor. And always so clean and bright white. They serve one of the baddest dudes of all time, the emperor. (Doesn't he look like Joe Lieberman?)
So they're all pretty cool. In the end, I'll have to go with the Stormtrooper, as long as he doens't have to walk through any doorways, or else he'll bonk his head like in A New Hope...

1) As mentioned, Sauron has the advantage over Superman because magic is one of supe's weaknesses.
2) However, the Earth wins over Sauron, because it is proven that a well-placed volcano can destroy the Ring no problem.
3) But the Stormtrooper could probably report the conflict to Tarkin who would blow up the Earth with the Death Star.
4) And Superman can evidently kick the stormtrooper's rear any day of the week, as well as fly into the death star, give a thermal gaze to the reactor, and come out unscathed thanks to invulnerability.
So they circularly beat each other. I dunno really.
