I think it's worse that we're stuck in the middle! We have the old geezers telling us that 1e is better than any addition, we have young d3wds telling us that 3e is better than any addition, and then both of them reject Planescape games because "that's not how the planes work" in their systemShemeska said:So true. And then over on WotC, while I feel oddly older for knowing about 2e stuff (though I didn't play DnD till 3e) I feel like I'm talking to a gang of 12 year olds half the time, which is probably closer to reality than not..
Even though I run PS in 3.5e, I still use 2e fluff. That pesky 3e Manual of the Planes book has made my players think I don't know what I'm talking about so many times:
Me: There's a light condensation this morning in Sigil when you step out onto the street.
Player: I thought that there is no weather in Sigil.
Me: I've told you before, MotP was written by Primes. I use 2e PS fluff first and 3e MotP fluff second if I have to. Don't believe everything you read in MotP!
