this idea too bizzare/not bizzare enough?

Alright, I'm looking for critique on my first attempt at a homebrew. So far I've only got the basic idea for the campaign so any help would be appreciated.

Also, I appoligize if there's anything appaulingly bad about my writing, I've only got a 7th grade English education. :D

......................................................................................................

The god of time, once a lawful and rigid figure, has been driven completely and utterly mad by the stress of his job. As a result of this madness, he's grabbed snippets of different time periods, thrown them all over the earth, and pressed liquefy. In the lush rainforests down south, prehistoric beasts and humanoids dominate over the smaller men with the odd hands that fire hot stones (guns).

In the west however, only those raptors with magically enhanced intelligence and the occaissional civilized neanderthal can expect to survive the strange crime-run maze that is the metropolis of New Grayhawk, where bands of orcs ride around on motorcycles with their spray-paint cans in one hand, and their pistols in the other.

Also, De Ja Vu is a common occurance in this place, as the god of time (Kranos (and yes, that is supposed to be similar to Cronos from the myths)) will literally rewind time a little and then let it happen over again. Not only that, the passage of seasons and the transition from night to day is so completely random that any hope of measuring time is completely and utterly futile.
........................................................................................................

and that's all I've got. Any advice for my first campaign would be highly appreciated. :)

hey :)

Well if your players like the GURPS feel of a cross genre campaign then it should be pretty cool (I love cross genre personally :D). I would just encourage you to flesh out a good size group of NPC's and locations to help lend credibility to the setting. If you get things like that, and whose in charge, hammered out it should promise to be alot of fun. I suggest using the vitality/wounds system from Starwars D20 (it's also used in Spycraft D20 and other D20 products). Well good luck, let me know how it goes :)

Okay can anyone say RIFTS?

Personally I think it will be fun if you can get a cohesive story together that lets the PCs explore the different geo-temporal regions with some kind of logical purpose -perhaps to stop Kranos before the whole world goes insane

and if you can check out Hooligans Haircut

Tonguez- Hooligans Haircut is that a game, website, store or what?

Both- I've never played GURPS or Rifts, so I can't say that I know that any of my players would enjoy it.

This sounds like TORG to me. The old game (i think) by west end games. You might want to check out the web for stuff on that.

A word of warning though - make sure you players know what kind of campaign you are running. I recently ended up (unknowingly) in a cross genre game and ended up quitting it, because of its unusual mix. For me personally it just doesn't ring true and i found my "suspension of disbelief" dwindling rapidly. when the kobolds in the space suits came out - I ran off. Obviously, this type of game DOES appeal to you. Fair enough, but once again. Make sure it appeals to your players too.
