I am running a "new to GenCon" game as well, with sign-ups over at CM: GenCon - Circvs Maximvs or, more specifically, [Thur 10am - 2pm] Piratecat's Ashen Stars - GenCon newbie game! - Circvs Maximvs

Ashen Stars, a new Robin Laws game of investigation and space opera using the GUMSHOE system from Pelgrane Press.

I don't have a plot yet, and I know the rules yet, and I don't know diddly about space opera, but I'm pretty sure this game is going to rock the freakin' house. Sign up if you trust me. Expect political intrigue, heavy roleplaying and alien hijinks. . for certain very deadly definitions of "hijinks."

Those signups start at 8pm this evening. I'll be honored to take folks who haven't gamed with me before, or for whom this is their first GenCon.
