timeborn sorceror subclass idea

Fighter's Action Surge is kind of a weaker version of Time Stop, right?

I really like the idea of this subclass and these abilities actually look pretty useful. I'd worry that this class is weak at 1st level; History and Initiative are not all that great compared to AC and HP. I'm not sure how I'd improve it, though. Actually a flat +10 feet to speed would be a good start, making the character more of a skirmisher and better at kiting, which improves later with misty step.

Also the power to spend sorcery points to re-arrange initiative would be cool and interesting, and a good way to help out your teammates. Not sure how I'd phrase it or how powerful it would be in practice.

originally i was going to have expertise in perception and history though that was too good, personally i feel 1d4 added to your initiative is great especiallyas this class is a controller in my opinion. adding 10ft of movement would probs bring it up to draconic, also fits well with the fluff of everyone is slower.
rearranging initiative is probs too powerful even though it would be cool.
I'll add the movement though.
should it just be a flat 10ft improvement lvl 1, or a gradual increase as well, problem is not stepping on the monks toes as they are the flash and making proffesor zoom makes them less cool.

That's not a bad idea, but I wouldn't recommend it. The abilities they're already getting at that level are pretty strong. A flat bonus to Initiative? That's pretty good for a caster. First turn fireball. Sorcery point to Quicken aforementioned fireball. Release cantrip. Target is likely dead, or in a bad way long before getting to even act in the combat round.

true, and then if you take alert feat only a swashbuckler rogue will likely go before you. i never actually thought of just killing the enemies, my first thought was wall of force or forcecage. i will stick with original no movement bonus then.

Yeah, playing a timelord can start to put you out of the "Murder death kill" mentality of spellcasting, but the fact of the matter is that you're playing a spellcaster. Going first is always devastating to enemy ranks.
