I can share a similar experience. I emailed them about a month ago asking why the DMG II was brown instead of blue. I received a response that basically said that the colors were not set in stone; all books were for players and DMs equally. Then about a week later, a person in the know posted that the brown cover mockup is a mistake and the real cover would be blue.

As for customer service, I can relate. I work in technical support for dial up and DSL. I get blamed for the customers that receive viruses and download spyware ;)

Heh. I can see how that might be inconvenient. :heh: You could ask a state-side person to ask for you.
