To all D&D fans - what are the top 3 specific changes 4e needs in your opinion

True, I suppose some of those pieces are being held back. I guess I should have said that I wish the same style of artwork appeared more often. Some of the chapter openers are very cartoony and not very impressive (with some exceptions...like Raven Mimura's piece with the Tiefling Skeletons).
I agree. The art in the preview books got me so super-excited I was practically bouncing off the walls and I actually went out and bought a little notebook so I could write down all the ideas I was getting, most of which were inspired either by the art or the content in the preview books.

I have not once felt this way since getting any of the actual 4e rulebooks. :(

I have to agree with you on the content and marketing.
Yeah. I really don't get it. Something's going on there that's just not quite right.

hmm, concerning the art books vs. actuall books... yeah, I kind of feel the same... but, I love the background comming through Dragon Magazine (Playing X, Demonomicon, Codex of Betrayal...) and I still have the art books... that makes the 4e feel more complete to me, than it actually is, I guess...

4. I want much more dramatic marital powers to be common at paragon+tiers. I wanted people running across water, smashing down stone walls with there fist. Anime, naruto level fighting skills.
So, you mean powers like Greater Auto-Win Argument, or are you talking stuff that violates the Grandmother Rule, if you catch my drift?

But seriously, people complain enough about the "superheroic" martial powers as it is.

People complain about a lot of things. The martial powers in this game don't seem remotely superheroic to me. They are bland and boring with bigger numbers as i advance.

I'd rather have no powers and a totally down to earth feel, than bland powers that slowly get bigger numbers.

If you are going to give everyone powers, give them cool powers.

Basically I think a lot of the epic powers thematically could have been paragon, a lot of the paragon heroic, and heck many of the epic powers heroic.

The ranger arrow storm power that is like a 20 square blast totally awesome for a paragon tier, kind of meh for epic.

Thank you! ;)

You're welcome.

A good idea, is a good idea, i was too lazy to track down who it came from though. It does seem to be something that is missing in this system, the feeling that you are improving at an ability you trained at. You stay the same at the abilities you know, and you learn some new tricks. But no actual improvement at what you do seems to occur.

Aren't they in the same section as the gnome for use as a player character?
To justanobody, and several others:

Excuse me while I eat my words.
Somehow I missed the section in each monster entry titled 'Senses'.
Drow DO have darkvision.

Evidently it is me that is vision impaired!

I think though that IIRC those are tiny blocks without any indication of what they are unlike the actual PHB, and FRPG with the faded backgrounds and bigger text that could go missed.

So it would have been easy to miss, I just wanted to make sure myself that I hadn't seen things that didn't exist when looking at the DM copy of MM.

Not that anyone is allowed to play any of them anyway so why should I bother remembering what they say.

But at least know we all know its there, so it wasn't an accusation, and don't choke on them.

(They should have been in the PHB not the MM if players are allowed to use them.)
