The riders approach your position, but slow up as they near hearing Raiyek's cries for peaceful discourse. The three men are heavily armed, carrying greataxes across their backs and their clothing is made of some sort of hide you've never seen before.

One of them rides closer to you, the farther two have a pair of longbows trained on your position, whilst the leader has his axe out.

"Who in Quetzalcoatl's name are you? You no play trick on us elf you know where you is" the man says.

[sblock=Religion DC 23]
Quetzalcoatl is the name of Joven in the Valley of Bone.

Riayek doesn't react to the invocation of Quetzalcoatl's name, not recognizing, it. He does answer the man's question, however. "I am Raiyek Meliam, paladin of Palladys. I hail from ... Daunton. These others are friends and companions of mine, and we have just arrived here from Daunton through some sort of portal. And you, good sir, are ... ?" Raiyek waits to hear the man's response, smiling and keeping his piercing eyes locked with the man's, hoping to show his honesty, attention, and good-will. Meanwhile he keeps his ears open for any sounds of trouble.
[sblock=OOC]Religion (1d20+6=20). Well, Raiyek doesn't know who Quetzalcoatl is, which is unfortunate.

Bluff (1d20+3=13), for the "hails from Daunton" bit. Since he doesn't really hail from Daunton, after all. ;)

Diplomacy (1d20+10=29).

You all feel free to jump in if you want, no need for Raiyek to do all the talking. :)[/sblock]

Having been too slow to hide before the riders had approached, Lily simply stood there awkwardly hoping Raiyek would keep them out of trouble. That is, until the name of Quetzalcoatl was mentioned, there her eyes lit up.

Ooh, ooh! Quetzalcoatl, we must really be near the Valley of Bone, that's what they call Joven there.

She paused for a moment, clearly hopeful that the information was helpful, before suddenly being struck by another idea.

Heh heh...um, pardon me a moment.

Taking a couple steps away and turning her back for a moment she spoke in a quiet voice.

Yeah, well what about Palladys?

The wind stirred like a whispers for a moment and then stopped.

Religion vs DC 23 (1d20+8=23)

What might the Valley of Bone equivalent of Palladys be then? And is the relationship between the gods here locally such that it would be better to mention it, or not mention it. Here is another roll if you need it.
I'll use Speak with Spirits first for a bonus to the roll.

[sblock=Lily]
Coyolxauhqui is the equivalent of Mireva (Daunton) is the equivalent of Palladys (Imperium) (Now that you know where you are, the DC is a bit lower)

Lily nodded in affirmation and then sidled back over to Raiyek. Leaning in close she spoke quietly.

My sources tell me that here your god is known as Co yol xauh qui... Coyolxauhqui! Yeah, that's it.

Georg seems to think for a second, hoping to choose his words carefully. He stands towards the front near the paladin and fighter and attempts to appear friendly.

[sblock=OOC] Pretty isolated upbringing for Georg. Maybe I know something about my dwarf cousins in these lands.
History Check 1d20+4 (IC is down, I am still using my level 1 stats)

Grim watches the ongoing conversation curiously, but keeps his hand on the hilt of his blade, staying alert for trouble.
[sblock=ooc]
So how's this work, then? Do we get to use our new shiny level 2 stuff now, or does it have to be approved all the way before use?

I updated the wiki page for Grim to level 2, but if I jumped the gun I can easily revert it.
