To Catch a Crimelord, or Down the Rabbit Hole (garyh judging)

[sblock=Advancement]
Just like you can adventure without being approved for 1st level, as long as your DM is fine with you adventuring without being approved for 2nd level (which I am) then you're ok to roll with your second level stats. So Georg, Grim and Carolina are fine to use your new modifiers (everything is +1) as well as your new utility power even if you're not approved. There's currently over 10 character submissions in the queue so I think it'll probably take a few weeks to burn through them.

Riayek doesn't react to the invocation of Quetzalcoatl's name, not recognizing, it. He does answer the man's question, however. "I am Raiyek Meliam, paladin of Palladys. I hail from ... Daunton. These others are friends and companions of mine, and we have just arrived here from Daunton through some sort of portal. And you, good sir, are ... ?" Raiyek waits to hear the man's response, smiling and keeping his piercing eyes locked with the man's, hoping to show his honesty, attention, and good-will. Meanwhile he keeps his ears open for any sounds of trouble.
[sblock=OOC]Religion (1d20+6=20). Well, Raiyek doesn't know who Quetzalcoatl is, which is unfortunate.

Bluff (1d20+3=13), for the "hails from Daunton" bit. Since he doesn't really hail from Daunton, after all. ;)

Diplomacy (1d20+10=29).

You all feel free to jump in if you want, no need for Raiyek to do all the talking. :)[/sblock]

"You is not truthy. Why you lie, what you hiding?" the man bristles and the others shift in their saddles.

The land is savage untamed wilderness save for the kingdoms of gold the dwarves have carved into the central mountain. There are several independent dwarven kingdoms in the central mountain.

Georg coughs. "My friend was simply saying that we came a long distance, from Daunton, recently. We are pursuing a criminal and would like to pass peacefully through your lands."

The men look at each other, they speak a language that you don't understand for a few moments. The leader nudges the horse closer and says "You shall come with us. Chief Kniva should talk to you" as he beckons you to follow.

Georg follows them along with his comrades. Whispering to those near him, he says, "This land is savage untamed wilderness save for the kingdoms the dwarves have carved into the central mountain."

Kruk lets his companions move forward ahead of him, then follows right behind them. Every so often he checks behind him to scan for sneaky foes.

Carolina waits a few seconds until he is sure that everyone is moving before she comes from behind the rock to quietly bring up the rear of the group.

She's trying to blend in with the crowd now, in hopes that it won't be so obvious that she was hiding before if they see her. If she can stay out of their immediate line of sight, she will... just to get the jump in case there is trouble up ahead.[/sblock]

Sorry. Um I forgot a fairly important plot point. As you land through the portal it undulates and stretches again, but loses its cohesion and winks out of existence, leaving you in the center of the stones when the riders began to approach. Please forgive me. :o :blush:

The group follows the men as they ride at a slow trot on their horses, as you are moving you see a strange sight overhead. A creature with the wingspan is about 5 meters wide and leathery skin hovers lazily across the sky. The men bow their heads in respect, but also a look of fear covers their faces as the creature continues past.

An audible sigh of relief escapes the last rider as you continue to the village. The walls are of thin wood and there are no gates to speak of, just another pair of guards at the gate. You notice that the weapons carried by these men are rather large bones, used likely as clubs.

You are escorted through the small village by the leader in front and the other two at your sides. Interested humans look out at you from rather simple looking homes, their tanned faces turn away in fear if you look directly at them. You are brought to the largest home in the small community, this one having an actual door rather than the animal hides the others did over the doorway. The leader looks back at you saying "Chief Kniva inside, he talk to you, give me moment." as he opens the door and enters, shutting it behind him. After a couple minutes the man opens the door and gestures for you to follow.

Inside the room is decorated with some animal pelts, most of them of large carnivores that you might have heard of, a black bear, a spotted pelt of a great hunting cat. There are some heads on the wall, one is of a boar, larger than any you've seen before, there is a lizard's head, but as large as one of the aforementioned cats.

A man sits comfortably in a throne made of bones, himself adorned with a headdress that has colourful feathers and jewels embedded in it. He wears a large gold necklace with a pendant on it, but no shirt, instead his muscular upper body is visible. The man smiles as you enter, a friendly smile, and rises to greet you. "Welcome. Gorlin tell me you enter the sacred stones. You are looking to catch someone? Well, we need help to. Maybe we help you and you help us?" he asks in a deep voice.

[sblock=Nature DC 15]
The bones are likely not humans

The pendent has a symbol of Quetzalcoatl on it.
