To Catch a Crimelord, or Down the Rabbit Hole (garyh judging)

The chief informs you that it will take three days to reach the golden city of the dwarves known as Choca Paquiliz. He gives you a token of his with the symbol of Quetzalcoatl on it to give to the dwarves so they know who you are representing. He also supplies you with some dried meat to take as provisions.

You are walking through the rocky, dry terrain along a trail overlooking difficult scrub on either side. You hear rustling in the foliage and see a group moving through the brush towards you. They are carrying longbows and have spears across their backs. The savage looking humans move out onto the trail in front of you, weapons drawn. Another human is with them, he bears no weapons with him and one of his eyes is gouged out. "Ah, you are on time. The master will be pleased. You shall fetch us a great reward" the man says confidently.

There is a large shadowy form to the south of the path, it is watching you and looks ready to strike.

"On time?" Carolina asks to no one in particular. She looks into the man's one eye as she grasps the hilt of her dagger. "I've always preferred the fashionably late approach, myself."

Georg rushes forward, closing the distance between them. He swings his staff towards the humans and a larger burst of flame envelopes them all.

Noticing the dark shape south of the road, Raiyek shouts a warning to his companions, pointing to the shape. "Careful, they have some beast or ally in the brush to our left!"

Warning out of the way, he turns to the apparent leader of the humans. "What plans? That's not possible unless you've been operating in Daunton. And if that's the case, then you're just the people we've been looking for." His face is serious as he readies for combat.
