Today I learned +

When I went to BC, it did share a lot of feeling with the US PNW.
You have no idea how often my actor friends complain about Seattle losing business to Vancouver. I think that last expression that I saw going around was "Seattle, British Columbia." They would likely have said "Vancouver, Washington" if one didn't already exist ;)

Some of my favorite shows like Stargate are from there. I have also heard the train trip from Toronto to Vancouver is amazing, epic.

Whither Cascadia.

TIL that the "three apples tall" description of the smurfs is an overly literal translation of a belgian idiom that simply means "very small". This explains the apparent size discrepancy

"Haut comme trois pommes". The equivalent in German is "drei Käse hoch" (three cheeses tall), and in Dutch "drie turven hoog" (three peat bricks tall). European legislation seems to have put an end to all these units of measurement.

Today, I was looking for a new (Asian) Indian/Mexican restaurant near me because the ones I knew of had closed, and I found out there’s a significant population of (Asian) Indians living in Mexico. I thought it was just a fusion cuisine popping up here in Texas, when in reality, it’s a thriving subculture.

FWIW, if you DO find in Indo-Mex restaurant near you, give it a try! Naan makes for good burritos; tacos & enchiladas stuffed with things like tandoori chicken simply kick ass!
