TIL that the parody song "Livin' la Vida Yoda" was not written by Weird Al but rather was written by Gavin Downing and recorded by his brother and my friend, Todd Downing. I had no idea!
A lot of parody songs get misatrributed to him. Which on the one hand makes sense because he's the biggest name in that specific niche of the music industry, but on the other hand is kind of weird because his voice is very distinctive

That's also why during the start of the limewire/naspter era he was against downloads of his music due to not wanting to be associated with content that he didn't do that was very explicit in content.

The surprise was that I've known Todd for years now and I'm still being surprised. It seems to be a thing, with my West Coast friends, that I keep finding layers. One did that song. Another has created memes that are all over the internet, but never get attributed to him. A third wrote a paper that gets casually referenced all the time in Microsoft security circles. It goes on and on...
