Tome of horrors for 3.5?

No, they didn't have anything to do with the re-write of CC. As for ToH, like Erica said above, or at least hinted at, she and Scott have done most, if not all the conversions to 3.5. What is holding up a rerelease is if Bill and Clark think it would be economically smart for them to do so. They cannot afford to do as re-release that doesn't make money. Any short fall will come straight out of their personal bank accounts.

You guys want a ToH1 3.5? E-mail Necro, give them the confidence to take the marketing risk by giving them a good idea how many sales they would have. If they get 5 or 600 e-mails promising to buy a 3.5 they will do it, as long as WOTC wouldn't shut it down.

Actually, 5-600 won't do it. We'd have to sell quite a bit more than that to make a revision worthwhile. You have to understand that it would have to go through layout again, etc. Doing a revision is not as simple as "plugging in the new stats and re-printing." Just doesn't work out that way.

Revisions like this have not done well. This doesn't mean we are going to completely rule it out sometime in the future, but the market just doesn't appear to be there. We are checking into it, we are also checking into putting full 3.5 stats for ToH1 monsters used in new books as they come out.

And how about a web enhancement that covers this? Wizards of the Coast provided one that covered several books including the Monster Manual II. I can perfectly understand the reluctance, as well as legal issues that may prevent it from being printed. Some web support for this book would be great.

FWIW, I'll cast my vote. 3.5 compatibility has been the main thing holding me back from purchasing ToH. I'd buy a revised edition no problemo.

I realize that the required number would be more like 2,000 sales, but I was thinking that 5 to 600 e-mails may make them more confident that the magic number for a reprint to be feasible would be hit.

I am sure that a pdf version will be made available. At least of the monsters that WOTC wouldn't cause any legal troubles over. Besides, Scott and Erica have provided a good number of revisions as it is.

As much as I'd love to have a revised TOH, if I couldn't have that, I'd like an update document to add in the feats, LA, and other tidbits like WOTC did for their books... I do NOT want to buy a PDF just to get an update...

The problem, in my mind at least, with doing it that way is that then anyone who really wants all those monsters pretty much has no option beyond buying all of the separate new books, and even then that's not very useful for carting them to game sessions.

Personally, I think that the combination of 3.5E updates and incorporating the errata (of which there seems to be a veritable truckload - heck, I contributed a point of errata myself) would, altogether, make for a very attractive package.

Since the closest thing to this we've seen is the Creature Collection Revised, how did that do?

I was going to buy ToH just at the time 3.5 was announced--so I held off waiting to see what would happen...

That was almost 2 years ago. I'm still waiting it seems :\ (I was really quite pumped to get my DM's hands on a copy too! Drat!)

Despite my frustration, I am willing to buy a revised edition even if it cost a little extra than the original--provided of course that there's a little more polish in presentation (such as including some choice colour artwork), quality editting to purge the ol' typos, and all 3.5 revisions necessary are incorporated. If it's a gem in its revised form, then consider one copy already sold to this DM! :D

-Cheers, W.
