Too many books!

Things are pretty good for me. Most of the stuff being released is same-old, same-old (yet another race/class book with, *gasp*, more feats and prestige classes! = pass), so that saves me some cash and more importantly - time.

My buying habits:
- WotC FR books
- everything Necromancer Games
- Green Ronin Freeport stuff
- Dragon Mag & Dungeon Mag
- odds & ends (eg. high level modules; books that I need for my campaign - for example "Guilds & Adventurers" or "Airships")

I'm such a supplement whore...Unfortunately, I was a recent college grad and broke as a joke until yesterday when I got my first pay check(actually it was my first full 2 weeker, I had a one weeker to keep me afloat). So, how did I celebrate? I bought 3.5E and AU. If I end up REALLY getting into AU maybe some of the PDFs, and I'm not sure what I want next month. However, I do limit myself to about 1-3 books a month ($60 or so) plus my Dungeon/Dragon sub.

It's tough being a supplement whore, if you have enough time you don't have enough money and vice versa. One good/bad thing is Mongoose's Quit series turned me off after the Psychic Warrior/Druid...so that's one less book I will buy that I was getting all of them for. However, the new class books for Scarred Lands might be on my shelf soon. Did I mention FDP and MEG's AU adventures, no? They need to be mine. Plus Magical Medievil Society and..

Speaking of shelves..I will need a new book case or secretly move some of my gfs books off my shelf. Between technical books and D&D/D20 I've almost filled my shelf and that is without all my novels on there.

With my 2nd child due in 2.5 weeks, I also have to cut back. I was buying almost everything out there, but now I pretty much have to limit my purchases, with the hope that someday I will be able to go back and get the ones I missed.

Pretty much WotC, Bastion Press, Necromancer, and some of the White Wolf lines are the only ones I will be picking up in the near future. This really kills me as other publishers have some fantastic-looking products coming out.

Also, with the 3.5 release, a large number of products that were being held back are flooding into the market, and with the prices where they are, it's just too much at once for my poor wallet. :(

I know this feeling. Just sent one off to collage and boy does that hurt your bankblance. I am still trying to catch up with my list from last year. Let along this year. Well maybe in four years when my daughter is making her own money.

I'm right there with you Josh. There are so many books I want to get that I don't know where to start. It's especially harder now that I've begun trying to budget my entertainment expenses. I can't keep spending so much on books, cds and dvds. :(
Maybe I need a second job to buy all the stuff I want.

You can never have too many books; just too little money :D

Ha! The problem I have at this point is lack of bookshelf space for all of my books.
I haven't any time even crack any of the new books that came out this week as I've just been too busy with the store. Hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance.

Actually, it seems like that phase of the industry is winding down. Right now, I'm looking at fairly innovative things and new settings that I can raid for homebrews. And I can never have enough monster books. Which is odd, since I generally prefer classed humanoid adversaries -- NPCs essentially instead of monsters. I must need some kind of therapy...

Right now, I'm just jonesing for Blackmoor.

For me, the problem of fundage is simple... when RPG funds start getting tight, it's time to write another PDF. Basically, it forces me to contribute fresh stuff to the hobby for all if I want to keep enjoying the hobby.
