Toys to be used with our Games?

Would you say Decent is worth it for this stuff alone? I'm not knocking the game, mind, it's just I'd rather play D&D.

Well I would say it is worth it. Now mind you, I got the game for a fairly big discount due to a 10% off coupon and a sizable store credit. I think I paid around $45 for it. And it was a bargain at that price for sure.

In retrospect, I'd gladly pay full price for it though. Again, I use stuff from it all the time. It is the single best gaming product, aside from core rules and dice, that I've ever bought in terms of how often I use components from it.

I'll put it one other way (because this is how I was justifying the cost before I knew I'd be getting it for a discount): It retails for $80. It includes 80 miniatures. Even if the game sucked and it didn't include the fantastic snap-together dungeon, that's still a buck a mini (granted, these are unpainted). Especially considering that these include a broad range of PC type minis and quite a few "large" minis, that seemed like a pretty good deal.

Arise, thread!

I attached a pic of the DDM Fiendish Tyranosaurus and Human Druid next to two toys I bought for minis purpose, a "Fire Dragon" (serves perfectly as a black dragon, since the fire is removable) and an Animal Planet T-Rex (whose detail is astounding -- you can see the individual scales!). These are really cheap, and of better quality than most D&D Minis (the dragon is articulated, the T-Rex is not, both are plastic).

The T-Rex fits perfectly as a Huge, the dragon could be a big Huge or a smallish Gargantuan.

I just ordered this bad boy, believe it or not it's a $20ish toy from a french company called Papo. The detail is amazing for the price, the jaw moves as well.
At 4.5" tall and 10" long it's a bit big for an Allosaurus at normal game scale, but it's far from an unwieldy size.

They also make some animal men in a 4" size with very high detail and an excellent design:

Doesn't take much imagination to see these guys standing on a battle mat either. -Q.
