Anyone notice? When Spike and Xander were preparing to steal RJ's jacket, you can see Spike's reflection in the plate glass window and TV of the appliance store. The post-production guys goofed. :)

I watched the episode with a friend who's a gay woman. Willow's lines regarding her sudden love for RJ inspired a whole lot of laughter.

Yeah, it is pretty pathetic when a show's budget is so low they have to use actors instead of actual vampires. :D

Something that I was really waiting for I finally got to see in this episode: Buffy was helping Spike. After all the lip service, she finally screwed up her will enough to reach out (albeit in the proverbial sense). She has a long way to go before dealing with what happened between her and Spike, but her speech with Dan spoke volumes about her emotional position at this point.

Just curious: How many here actually thought Willow was going to complete her spell?

Some things are too much to hope for.

Btw it looks like Buffy old Beau, Angel got himself a really big bad coming his way. Concidence...?

If Heterosexuality is not permanent for a character, why would homosexuality be. They never really explained Willows conversion very well, maybe we can chalk it up to a college experiment.

Very well? It was never explained at all. She met and Tara and it was basically "I think I'll be gay now." There was lead up to it at all, and no evil vampire Willow from the ALTERNATE dimension doesn't count.

Did it need to be explained? Sometimes these things just happen. It's not like they really explain any of the other romatic couplings in the series.

Explained? Maybe not, but it just came out of the blue and for a fundamental change in character like that there should have been some lead up.

What they did to Willow in the this case would be like Xander being a marine biologist in the next episode, and every one after it, with no reason why or any fore shadowing. The construction job ceases to exist and he's just a marine biologist from then on.

Yeah! It is a major change in a main character. They had seasons of sexual tension between Xander and Willow that dramatically effected other relationships, ie Cordy and Zander and wolfboy and Willow. Cordy falling in love with the new watcher and his transition from hated dweeb to just another dorky Scooby. It also temporarily changed he relationship with all of the other characters. Then, one day she forgets her OJ with breakfast and WHAM, she is gay.

Well, that comparison is apples and oranges. It would be like introducing a SF 49ers fan and then changing him to cheer for the Raiders. It's a change in the person, it's not based off of levels of education.

There was a link between Willow and Tara and their ability to perfrom greater magics saved them from the Gentlemen in Hush. Tara was always a background character, so it weasn't needed to dwell on their relationship.
