Daily Work: Traps! (Opportune timing given the day I'm having.) Specifically, Powers Greater Than I took a look and the DMG and said: "Needs more ready-to-play traps." And I'm happy to comply. In some significant ways, trap design is a lot like monster design, so it's a fun task. And the other thing I like? No more of this "traps cap out at CR 10" nonsense. In 4e, traps--and more broadly, other hazardous traplike things--go all the way up.

I really wonder what a level 30 trap will look like ? Something involving a anihilation sphere ?

I saw this too. Its looking like encounters will all fall in the 1-30 scale, including hazards and traps.

I wonder if social encounters (or multi-part social encounters) will be placed on the 1-30 scale, with appropriate XP.

And will they call this EL (encounter level) or something else?

I would rather see things like "the antimagic field is set up, the left wall open, lava flow in. Make acrobatic checks."
Are you kidding? 20th level characters can bathe in lava at the moment. And, given how Epic skills work, I have the feeling that the Rogue will be able to dance on the ceiling. ;)

"The trap goes off. Vecna is summoned."

Not in an antimagic field. 20d6 per roun would hurt a lot.

BTW, "antimagic field" is something that cause my players to shiver in terror... I wonder why. They did not even dare to face the beholder.

I think a good Disjunction should put fear into them.

Mm, that's nice.

A Living Disjunction spell, and several advanced rust monsters.
