Discourse Makes Us Human

Obryn said:
Why? What is it that I need personal experience with? Pain? Heartache? Suffering? Counseling? Alien abduction?

Yes to the first four; however, your soul has already been abducted ... you need to get it back.

Are you being deliberately obtuse or did you really not recognize the sarcasm?

Human beings are three dimensional creatures, hence we cannot be obtuse; I'm round actually.

As a fellow wit, I applaud and admire your sarcasm. ;)

Because it's a fascinating field of study, a growing area of science, and hey - it seemed like the thing to do when I was in high school. For a while I wanted to be a counselor, but once I discovered how divorced from reality most of counseling was, it lost its appeal.

Human beings that completely isolate themselves from others, divorce themselves from reality.

Reach out to your fellow humans ... they are not weaker than you.

They need your talent ... you need their compassion.

We need each other.

Yay! Some more of teh funney!

I, like you, have misjudged Hong in the past.

Just because he is different from you, and uses different argumentation methods, you assume that he is weak.

Sensitivity is not weakness; Hong is a good man.

Hong is simply different from you and me; that's all you know, because you refuse to know Hong or me.

How many people have you simply refused to know?

Oh no, I don't misjudge Hong. I rather like him. He's a very funny guy, and he knows it. You are the only one who sees weakness in him, for I know that Hong is mighty. His funney-foo is strong.

I know Hong as much as I can while still being comfortable about it (no stalking). That is to say, not a lot, but just what he agrees to let other know, by saying it himself on a forum like this one.

The same for you or anyone, actually.

And I have never refused to know anyone, but I refuse to know a huge lot of people. No, there is no paradox. Can you solve that riddle?

By the way, I'm now sure you're honging. And I must say, it's quality honging!

Completely "solving the riddle" ends the cosmos ... I'll lay off and stop misbehaving.

Thank you for correcting me. Although there is beauty in Mystery, Knowledge is power.

I agree that absence of male energy ... is just as bad as too much male energy.

I believe the answer is "sperm" by the way ... nice one.

I saw the title of the thread, "Trying to be funny with insults" and thought it was a how-to. Imagine my confusion when I touch upon one of the most illuminating, and deeply, thought-provoking discussions I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I am ashamed to think that I could ever be possible of wounding someone like that.

PS: I would cast a friendship spell on all of you, but mind-affecting spells don't work on creatures with an Intelligence of 0.

I love you guys. :)

Goodness gracious, this is getting absurd. I seem to recall this thread used to be about BlackSilver, so I'll head back in that direction.

Step 1: Decide if he is your friend.

IF YES: Then he's trying to play with you. So play with him. It's supposed to be a relaxing hobby, so have fun with it.

IF NOT: Stop gaming with him. Why do something for fun with people you arn't friends with?

Step 2: Disregard any folks trying to tell you that Your Pain Is All There Is In This Life, And Other People Should Be Made To Respect What Awful Pain You Suffer Every Day. Seriously, have a good time. It's a bleedin game! Move along with your life and grow a thick skin; everyone needs one at one point or another.

Luck.

Please tell me you've switched from "eccentric Dr. Phil wannabe" to "troll" and don't really believe the stuff you're posting now. Because otherwise my head just might explode.

Men's movements are about real strength. Gender roles used to help us out, but modern life has discarded them (in some cases, for the better).

Although feminism had good points, attempting to destroy the male ego was its worst one (think of Kali here ... big time).

I need to rebuild myself, look out for you, and learn to truly love women without lashing out at them for their utter contempt of men.

I need to become the protector, rather than the destroyer or the wuss.

I still need to kick butt though, because no one else will.

I need to find my own well of strength apart from cloying maternal influences.

I need to be Aragorn ... not Doctor Phil.

I am a man, and that scares women. However, I should never attempt to think like a woman in order to understand them better.

We will never truly understand each other and that is why we are distinct genders. That is a beautiful thing.

Thanks for the wakeup call guys <punches you all in the arm and stands up for himself>.

Enough Acid Already

Now that you know I'm certifiable, I'll catch you on the flip side. ;)

Peace Out and, as for BlackSilver, I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Fiddler on the Roof:

LOCAL: "He's right? He's right? They can't both be right."

TEVYE: "You know ... you are also right."

Who knows? That might be an improvement. ;)
