Not sure but I think Stop, meant Stop.

Blacksilver, if you meant to end this thread-

I think that was his/er intent, that is how I took it. S/He (not sure) seems not to like the idea of arguements and arguing, esp. on BlackSilver's thread.

Childish Sexual References: Is Someone Ashamed?

He should probably stop before he goes blind.

Human beings who do not have the gift of shame, enjoy shaming others.

I, for one, do not need your shame today.

Yes, I engage in what you imply.

So, do you ... brother.

I think we've found the problem.

Your sense of humor is either missing or defective. If I were you, I'd bring it back to the shop.

Bows Respectfully to the Master Before Combat

I have a BA and have done Master's work in Psychology, FWIW. I beg to differ that there are only two options here.

I wholeheartedly agree, however in order to communicate effectively we have to impose limitations on our speech (and arguments) ... otherwise, we would just babble incoherently.

However, I still assume that you must either be familiar with the nuances of so-called "pop-psychology" or you are not.

If you are familiar with something, you have personal experience with it.

If you are not familiar with something, you can only imagine how bad it must be. Although your imagination may, in fact, be accurate ... it is not automatically so.

Uhm... Thanks for the list of your academic credentials, I suppose.

You are welcome. Thank you for recognizing them; yours are also very impressive.

I don't see how it relates to the issue at hand or makes you right - but hey, I took second place at the egg toss in third grade and I'm still feeling pretty good about it. So I'm happy for you! Yay you!

Egg tosses require extensive eye-hand-coordination and manual dexterity, not to mention a good sense of humor.

Who said that's what I want?

Why did you study psychology in the first place, my friend?

Help, I Seem to Have Lost My 6th Sense!

Where is your joy and/or logic?

How can a human being actually be missing a sense of humor? Please define the biological components that comprise this sense. I am not familiar with them. ;)

Why? What is it that I need personal experience with? Pain? Heartache? Suffering? Counseling? Alien abduction? I don't need to empathize here. I think it's unreasonable to expect people to take baby-steps with you or walk on eggshells if your skin isn't thick enough. If you don't like the way they interact with you, leave the situation and find new friends. Or just learn to cope.

Are you being deliberately obtuse or did you really not recognize the sarcasm?

Why did you study psychology in the first place, my friend?
Because it's a fascinating field of study, a growing area of science, and hey - it seemed like the thing to do when I was in high school. For a while I wanted to be a counselor, but once I discovered how divorced from reality most of counseling was, it lost its appeal.

Evidently.

Lack of Awareness = Prejudice

Menace, are you honging?

I, like you, have misjudged Hong in the past.

Just because he is different from you, and uses different argumentation methods, you assume that he is weak.

Sensitivity is not weakness; Hong is a good man.

Hong is simply different from you and me; that's all you know, because you refuse to know Hong or me.

How many people have you simply refused to know?
