Raven Elk decides on another tactic. Though the bear is thrashing about while attacking Taylar, he manipulates Way to muddle, or confuse, the bear's mind. At an opportune moment, he reaches out to touch the bear. With the confusing swirl of colors he perceives as his guide, Raven Elk taps into the heart of the kaleidoscopic morass of confusing, though energetic, color and sees himself manipulating the Way Lines within the bear, seeing it permeate the bear's mind as he does this.

Though Maka charges forward, Vittero closes to point-blank range and again tries to plant an arrow in the bear.Maka, realizing that weapons are proving to be inadequate, says, "A warrior is nothing if he is not willing to die in pursuit of his goal!"
With that, he drops the bow, and rushes the bear, intending to touch him; it is Maka's intention to Muddle the bear using Way Manipulation.

Vittero will assist Taylar in tending his wounds.Gritting his teeth against the pain, Taylar inspects the claw marks in his flesh. He will manipulate Way to increase his healing ability. "These should make some nice scars, and I won't even have to exaggerate the size of that damnable bear."

Vittero will help skin and prepare the bear meat for consumption. He will also suggests that, in addition to the hide, the crew keep the bear's claws. He speaks to Maka. "I do not think that I can ever understand your dedication to the religion of your tribe, though I will respect it. I suspect that you can sense that this bear has no essence just as well as I, although I have no idea what generates their impetus for life.Maka takes out his knife, intending to put the bear out of its misery...
