Could you wield a greatsword 2 handed, assess two weapon fighting penalties and get an extra kick as your "off hand attack"?

If you have multiweapon fighting, yes. This is addressed in the FRCS blade boot errata.

If it were my campaign, I'd let them do it as an "off-hand" attack . . . but of course they'd at least three feats to use it effectively, or a level of monk and two feats (Ambidexterity and Two Weapon Fighting). Even then, they'd get next to no damage from the kick. Why not? They'd be penalizing all their attacks by -2 for an extra d3+2 or maybe d6+3 damage, at most.

The only house-rule part of this exercise, if it were my campaign, would be to rule that you only get half your strength bonus to damage with the kick, because most of your body's strength and leverage is spent in whirling that heavy blade all over the place.

Of course, you could always say "Sure, you can kick this round and swing your sword, but you'll have to use one of your iterative attacks to do it".

Does that work? You need 3 or more arms to take multiweapon fighting, don't you?

Like I said, check out the FRCS errata. It specifically states that you can do it, and since blade boots aren't worn on the arm...well...there you go. ;)

Yeah, but don't do it. You *know* your character will look silly trying to use a greatsword and kicking.

Plus, without a blade boot (pretty hokey already) I would allow an AoO whenever you stuck your leg out there. (Plus, it just is a poor idea to do that while weilding a GS)

.

Short answer: yes.

Longer answer (from the FAQ): "If the monk wields a two-handed weapon, he can use a kick or similar attack as an off-hand attack. This works just like an off-hand attack made along with a one-handed weapon attack."

You don't HAVE to be a monk--you just need Improved Unarmed Strike.

Actually, you only need IUS if you want to avoid an AoO.

Remember that while you get 1.5xStr bonus for that two-handed weapon, you only get .5xStr bonus for the kick. And everything is at -2.

I'm not so sure about that. Improved Unarmed Strike doesn't open up new attacks, and not having it doesn't prevent you from making a kick attack.
