Two hander style gets the axe shaft!

Try a charge with true strike, full power attack, power lunge, and a scythe.

twice your strength mod, full power attack damage, and a x4 crit. now that's beautiful.

And if it´s a mind feeder weapon then you´re in power points heaven. Add Psychofeedback into the equation and it fully enters the realm of the obscene.

My character threatens on 10+ and has 8 attacks per round, so it averages about once per 1.5 seconds.
I knew that there was a reason why it paid to be Undead! :D

The great equalizer between two handed weapons and two weapon fighting is springing attack. If the two handed fighter has spinging attack and the same number of hps he will win 9 out of 10 times.

Will, you're going to hate this, but your math is still wrong by core rules. Since a natural 20 is always a hit, each group of parenthesis in the equation

(20 - AC + P) + (20 - AC + P - 5) > 2(20 - AC + P - 2) + (20 - AC + P - 7)

needs to have a minimum of 1. When doing this change it turns out that 2 attacks is only better when AC-P equals exactly 16 (with a tie for effectiveness at 15 and 17).

When each attack has practically no chance of hitting, a swarm of attacks eventually scores a couple hits.

The clean case of rapid shot is the same as the case of flurry of blows which is where I've seen these equations before.

Ah, thank you, Ealli... glad to have more math. ;)

Does the same result hold true for Rapid Shot/Flurry of Blows?

I'm also curious about the topic of different damage. If using a two handed weapon means each hit is 2x as much damage, I think there are still some big issues.
