D&D (2024) Types of Magic - Arcane, Divine, and Primal?

What first level Ranger, Paladin, and Sorcerer silo'ed spells are there which someone could use and want through one of those two feats?

Wrathful Smite is awesome and they actually changed that so now you can get it through the Shadowtouched Feat. It used to be Evocation and only Paladins and I think Hexblades could get it and even multiclassing Warlock to get it meant casting it on Charisma which did not work for a lot of builds. Now it is available to anyone through Shadow Touched and on any casting stat. That is going to rock on an Eldritch Knight, Ranger, Arcane Trickster, Valor Bard or basically anyone who uses melee weapons and has spell slots. It is so good I would consider taking it on a Paladin for the free cast and to free up another prepared spell.

Wrathful Smite is one of the best 1st level spells in 5E because the frightened creature needs to take an action to make a skill check try to shake the fear and that skill check is at disadvantage because it is frightened. It is the most persistent fear effect available in game once you land it (although in 5E the setup is not trivial). 2024 changed and nerfed the check/save aspect to a save every round with no action required. But on the flip side they also buffed it because it is no longer concentration and you use the bonus action it after you hit. So you can spam it and frighten multiple enemies (or frighten enemies while still concentrating on Hex or Hunter's Mark or something else).

The following Ranger, Paladin, Bard and Warlock spells are also available through Fey Touched and were in 5E as well: Hunter's Mark (Divination), Hex (enchantment), Compelled Duel (Enchantment), Dissonant Whispers (enchantment), Heroism (Enchantment). Of these Dissonant Whispers and Hex are extremely good spells, Heroism is good on some builds. HM and Compelled Duel less so.

There are a lot more good spell options on Fey Touched aside from the siloed spells listed. Bless, and with the changes Tasha's Laughter is going to be really good too. Good 5E spells that work with the feat are Gift of Alacrity and Silvery Barbs.

Shadow touched though did not have a great option. Cause Fear is good if you allow 5E spells that are not in the 2024 PHB, but that is probably the only good combat spell available before 2024. Disguise Self and Silent Image for out of combat uses, but after that it was slim pickings. False Life is ok on some very specific builds, The old Inflict Wounds was situationally useful for a full caster, but I can't think of any build that would want the new 2024 version. Wrathful Smite is going to be the standout on here going forward and its inclusion really elevates this feat a lot.

I don't know of any Sorcerer spells that are available through these or any feats that I can think of.

It uses your bonus action, and requires a save. Hexblades could use it ,but Hexblades are just another of the silo'ed classes to begin with, and they have uses for their bonus action. Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster are not going to want this because the save will be too low, and they want their bonus action for something else. Rangers the third silo'ed class, and they also need their bonus action and are now much more built around their bonus action. I don't expect this will be nearly as popular as you think.

Wrathful Smite is one of the best 1st level spells in 5E because the frightened creature needs to take an action to make a skill check try to shake the fear and that skill check is at disadvantage because it is frightened. It is the most persistent fear effect available in game once you land it (in 5E the setup is not that easy). 2024 changed and nerfed this aspect to a save every round with no action required. Other than that spell, which is new to Shadow Touched the following Ranger, Paladin, Bard and Warlock spells are also available through Fey Touched and were in 5E as well: Hunter's Mark (Divination), Hex (enchantment), Compelled Duel (Enchantment), Dissonant Whispers (enchantment). Of these Dissonant Whispers and Hex are extremely good spells. HM and Compelled Duel less so.

Hex and Hunter's Mark are not really silo'ed because the classes they're intended for give additional boosts to those spells which someone outside those classes don't get. That's one reason I think there was clear intent behind opening those spells, because they're really not that useful to classes outside of the ones they're for. Dissonant Whispers is the only spell I think is pretty good for other classes, though again that class will need a good DC for the save or it will be useless pretty often.
