Undispellable spells

Is there a way to make a spell undispellable and/or to make a spell that stays up in an anti-magic field (i know what "anti-magic" implies, but i'm still asking)

In regards to dispelling, I think there might be a feat or two that make your spells harder to dispell. I'm not aware of any surefire way to prevent it, nor am I aware of any way to keep a spell going inside an anti-magic field.

Xeoble, are you thinking of a particular spell or action you would like to take, or was that a general question?

Like Kreynolds said, some feats might make your spells harder to dispel, but there are no way to bypass, unless you actually use a spell that antimagic field specifically doesnt affect (wall of force, prismatic sphere, prismatic wall, list is not exhaustive).

Epic spells have a pretty good chance to function in an anti-magic area. If the caster is 30th level or up, then they work without fail.

There is the Epic feat Tenacious Spell that suppresses the chosen spell for 1d4 rounds instead of dispelling it outright.

One of the class features of the Shadow Adept PrC in the FRCS is increasing the DC of dispel checks against your Necromancy, Enchantment, and Illusion spells (DC = 15+your level, instead of 11+your level).

Also a Wall of Force/Prismatic Wall/Prismatic Sphere that is put up before an anti-magic effect takes place will block it. So if you were in a hemispherical wall of force, you could still cast spells b/c the anti-magic wouldn't penetrate it.

Of course, in a situation like this, fireball is a bad choice.

I created a permanent epic spell with my DM that effectively extends one's life indefinitely.

It is cast by an 86th level wizard and 9 other ~20th level wizards as a circle spell.

I wanted to know if that would hold up in most circumstances i.e. dispelling, anti-magic field, etc.

Also, i forgot to ask this earlier, but...is there any way to mask such a spell from "detect magic"? I figured that if a character had this spell cast on them, they would glow like a 500,000 lumen spotlight if looked at with Det Mag.

Personally, I'd just rule that the spell had a duration of instantaneous and be done with it.

In other words, you'd say:

ZAP...character's natural life is extended forever and the spell leaves no magical residue?

Well... you did say "86th level Wizard"...

Give it a focus, like a fingerbone. To suppress/dispel the spell, you need to get the focus into the AMF or whatever... if the wizard goes into the AMF, it has no effect.

Then he can put the focus in a little box and hide it in a tree in the middle of the forest.
