Undoing Imprisonment - Help Clarify

Ferox4

First Post
One of my PCs drew the Imprisonment card from the Deck of Many Things last session. I have some questions I need answered in order to prepare for the next session of play.

It says in the spell description for Imprisonment that the creature is "entombed in a state of suspended animation (see the Temporal Stasis spell) in a small sphere far beneath the surface of the earth. The subject remains there unless a Freedom spell is cast at the locale where the imprisonment took place."

Questions:

What exactly does the bold text indicate? It makes it sound as if the imprisoned creature is somehow returned to the initial spot of imprisonment. But the rest of the text in the spell description seems to contradict this.

Also, does the Freedom spell undo the Temporal Stasis effect of the imprisonment? I would think it would since it is part of the Imprisonment and seems to be mentioned only to clarify the condition of the imprisoned creature, but I'm not sure.....

Please advise me, learned boards.

Thanks,

Freedom must be cast WHERE HE DREW THE CARD. Then he will return to THAT spot. Freedom would bring him back just as he was before he drew the card. He would not be under stasis at that point, and is totally free. He will also have no memory of what happened, and no time passed for him.

Hope that helps.:)

Simple enough. Although it is going to difficult for a 12th level party to obtain a Freedom spell. Hmmmmmm......;)
