Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

Ter-raen, HP 6/14, AC 18, round 3

Good shield, good shield! Ter-raen, having spent a few moments tangling with the ambusher, senses that his opponent isn't exactly the most skilled of combatants. Though he wants to slice the man apart with his scimitar, his wounds tell him that playing it safe is better for now.

[sblock=OOC]
If I can 5ft step into the forest to try and give Erf a flanking position, I will. Otherwise, if it counts as difficult terrain, I'll stay where I am.

Attack 10, Damage 8

Sigh... crap rolls. And there goes another round.

Cyian HP:9 AC 17(no shield)

Cyian looks at the man in weird clothes running towards him and then over at Gildrim. What do I do? he thinks to himself. Maybe I can knock him out, the others will surrender when their leader falls.
Cyian takes another bullet from his pouch and places it in the sling, not noticing his fingers shaking. (From excitement or fear noone will every know which.) He swings the sling round adds a couple for good meaasure and lets the bullet fly. The missle arches out of the sling to land down the road 250' away.(is that max distance?) Cyian moves a little closer towards Gildrim.(5-foot step NW) "Help." he says in a small voice.

My bad roll: A= 10 D = 3 :<(

Round 3, in which nothing happens...

[sblock=trip attempt]I wrote earlier that Fenenn gets a trip attempt at +1. I was reading off of the Wolf entry in the SRD. After another look, however, it seems pretty clear that that's just the wolf's strength modifier. Fenenn should use his own str mod, so that's a 10. Not that it matters; avoiding the trip was my only decent roll this round.[/sblock]

Thug #3 avoids Fenenn's trip attempt.

Ter-raen glances at the forest, hoping to step around his opponent, but sees the dense undergrowth and decides to stay where he is. The sideways glance makes him hesitate, though, and the thug easily dodges his scimitar.

Gildrim stabs his sword ineffectually at the legs of his attacker, then sidles around him. With a shrugging motion, he brings his shield off his shoulder and into position. "Ah'm ready noo, laddie," he says.

Cyian loads and fires his sling again, but the missile flies out of sight down the road. He steps toward Gildrim and says in a small voice, "Help."

Carlos closes the distance to Cyian with a charge ending in a deep lunge, but his rapier gets caught on the tassels of his hat and the thrust goes wide. A bell goes tinkling down the road.

Thug #1 takes another swipe at Gildrim, but the dwarf's newly readied shield catches the blow easily.

Thug #3 swings hard at Ter-raen, but the pain from his wound spoils his concentration, and the blow misses badly. He risks a glance backwards, calling "A little help, here."

Thug #2 responds, dropping his bow and charging Fenenn while whipping out his shortsword. (ooc: Can you draw a weapon while charging, with BAB +1? Not sure, but it doesn't matter because my streak of bad rolling continues unabated...) Or trying to, at any rate; the sword sticks in its sheath and ruins his attack.

Erf...

Ter-raen 6/14
Gildrim 5/9
Cyian 9/9
Carlos Cloudsong 3 damage, -2 AC from charge
Thug 1 no damage
Thug 2 no damage, -2 AC from charge
Thug 3 4 damage
Erf 12/12 <--- You're up
Fenenn 13/13

ROUND 4

[sblock=ooc]This is incase everyone else goes sometime tonite won't be back ontill tommorrow afternoon.[/sblock]

Cyian cannot believe his luck. Never heard of someone's hat getting in the way during a fight. He stares for only a second before scrambling out of the mad mans way. Drawing his sword with both hands, Cyian uses the drawing motion to take a swing at him thinking to just make him back away. Cyian is shocked as the blade bites first through hard armor then soft flesh. He holds the blade unsteadily, pointed directly at the man."You'll get mor..more of the same if you don't surrender." his voice alittle on edge he holds back swallowing as he says it.

ROLLS: A=17 D=5
[sblock=actions]scrambling out of the way: 5 foot step SW drawing sword: move action no AO Take a swing:attack action dropping the sling in there somewherefree[/sblock]

Erf jabs his dagger at the thug trying to distract him, but fails miserably. Irked, Erf dismounts hoping to be more useful by flanking their foes.

Fenenn continues to attack thug 3, but trips over his own gangly legs, he growls in frustration.

[Sblock=OOC]Erf's ride check to fight while mounted. (1d20+3=23) What a waste of a nat. 20.

Erf's attempt to aide another for Fenenn. (1d20-1=5)

Erf attempts to dismount as a free action. (1d20+3=15) Fails, this does not provoke an attack of opertunity.

Fenenn's attack (1d20+3=4, 1d6+3=9) Of course I roll max damage when I miss, why wouldn't I? Grrr.

No you cannot draw a weapon whilst chargeing, but it doesn't matter since he missed.[/Sblock]

Gildrim, AC 16, HP 5/9, round 4

Gildrim takes a wide swing with his sword, cutting under his opponent's guard even as he steps back out of reach. "We're even noo, lad... yur sure ye wan' tae gae oan wi' this?"

OOC: 1d20+3=21, 1d8+3=4, 5' step NE

Erf AC 16 HP 12, Fenenn AC 16 HP 13

Erf moves around behind the second thug, this enables the sneering warrior to swing at the gnome. He then attempts to aide Fenenn again and succeeds in distracting their foeman, he is now flanking and aideing with the great Wolfhound and whistles pointing to this new foe as Fenenn's target.

"Fenenn, lets teach these bullies a lesson they won't soon forget! Wow Ter-raen that was amazing! Lets finish off these blaggards! Nip over here so I can give you a bit of healing when you get a chance, you don't look so good!"

Keeping his eyes focused on the combat at hand Erf calls back,

"Keep your chins up mates we've got'em by the naggers! Be with you in a second!"

The great Wolf hound follows Erf's direction unerringly and sinks his fangs into the thugs thigh drawing blood and attempting to wrench him from his feet.

[Sblock=OOC]Sorry to post early here, but I was almost certain Erf would do this. If Ter-raen or Erf takes significant damage I might revise these actions, but I thinks its unlikely.

Erf's attempt to aide another of Fenenn. (1d20-1=15) Success!

Erf attempts to direct Fenenn to attack thug 2 instead of thug 3. (1d20+7=16) Success! Since Fenenn is Erf's companion this is a free action.

Fenenn's attack, flanking, and being aided by Erf. (1d20+7=23, 1d6+3=6) Chomp!

Trip attempt. (1d20+2=16) Grrrr, come on Fenenn![/Sblock]

OOC: Woot! Go Ter-raen, thats more like it! I take it that was thug 3? Assuming this does thug 3 in does Ter-raen take any movement?

Round 4, in which things get bloody

End of Round 3

Erf fails to distract the thug, and hops off of Fenenn, who in turn trips, spoiling his attack.

Round 4

Ter-raen roars and strikes at Thug #3's exposed arm, severing it just below the shoulder. The man screams and collapses in a spray of blood.

Gildrim cuts his opponent with a wide swing and steps towards Cyian. "We're even noo, lad... yur sure ye wan' tae gae oan wi' this?"

Cyian marks his man too, landing a solid cut as he draws his longsword. "You'll get mor..more of the same if you don't surrender."

Carlos sneers, but looks a worried as well. He drops the short sword from his left hand, takes a step back, and pulls a scroll from a belt pouch, which he then reads.
[sblock=spellcraft DC 16]Expeditious Retreat[/sblock]

Thug #1, unwilling to back down from a dwarf, steps forward and slashes at Gildrim again, but is unable to make contact.

Thug #2, white-faced and covered in blood, steps backward and pokes at Erf, fighting defensively. He attacks skillfully, but in his caution he doesn't reach quite far enough, and the attack deflects off of Erf's armor.

Thug #3 lies still in a pool of blood.

Erf, emboldened by Ter-raen's spectacular attack, risks running behind his opponent, seeking to cut off his retreat. This gives the man another opportunity, but his cut is a second slow and misses the gnome entirely.

Fenenn bounds forward and bites the distracted man, but fails to pull him to the ground.

Ter-raen 6/14 <--- You're up
Gildrim 5/9
Cyian 9/9
Carlos Cloudsong 8 damage
Thug 1 4 damage
Thug 2 6 damage, +2 AC fighting defensively
Thug 3 20 damage, dead
Erf 12/12
Fenenn 13/13
