Use of Sneak Attack while Raging?

Since the Barbarian can't use Move Silently or Expertise (and feats the require Expertise) while Raging, I think he'd certainly lack the precision needed for Sneak Attack. Sneak Attack has always struck me as needing some precision and control.

I also wouldn't allow the Barbarian to use the Duelist's Precise Strike class ability, either.

I've always seen Sneak Attacks like kicking the dude in the junk, stabbing under his arm when he raises his sword to fight the other guy in a flank, stabbing him in the back or under a helmet. It's not about lurking and hiding and waiting, it's just slacking him in the vitals when he moves out of the way.

Howdy, K. Good to seee you. :D

What's it do, and what are the Prerequisites?

What Mr. Fidgit said. The feat has nothing to do with Intelligence. Its all about Dexterity and Combat Reflexes.

As it is, I'm inclined towards "no."

So...people that rage become inexplicably clumsy? Note that raging characters do not have their Dexterity reduced to 0. They simply suffer a penalty, which may not be enough to reduce their Dex below the prerequisites of the feat.

why can't the raging barbarian.... sneak attack the head? Just as pointed out above, its about the defender, its never about the attacker (aside a range attack). But I assume we are talking about a raging barbarian in melee. If the defender is flat footed or being flanked (and this can be sneak attacked), what does the rage change about the defender? No where in a rogue's discription of sneak attack does it say anything about requiring concentration

Sneak Attack: Any time the rogue's target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks the target, the rogue's attack deals extra damage. The extra damage is +1d6 at 1st level and an additional 1d6 every two levels thereafter. Should the rogue score a critical hit with a sneak attack, this extra damage is not multiplied.
Ranged attacks can only count as sneak attacks if the target is within 30 feet. The rogue can't strike with deadly accuracy from beyond that range.
With a sap (blackjack) or an unarmed strike, the rogue can make a sneak attack that deals subdual damage instead of normal damage. The rogue cannot use a weapon that deals normal damage to deal subdual damage in a sneak attack, not even with the usual –4 penalty.
A rogue can only sneak attack a living creature with a discernible anatomy. Any creature that is immune to critical hits is also not vulnerable to sneak attacks. The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach a vital spot. The rogue cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with concealment or striking the limbs of a creature whose vitals are beyond reach.

Hi K

Remind me never to play a Barbarian/Rogue with some of you guys. ;)

Actually, this reminds me of a character concept. Barbarian Archer. He goes rage, and goes into 'Bullet Time'. Since he's using a Mighty Bow, the Str bonus helps out his damage. Then again, I don't know if it would work that way (I think you need that bonus just to fire the bow?).

Not allowing sneak attacks when raging makes me want to call Fluffy
