It's cool. If it was that long ago, then it doesn't surprise me in the least. Rulings change. It's just a natural stage of rule interpretation/correction. If rulings didn't change, we wouldn't have errata, such as Boots of Speed. Given that, I'm not bothered by a rule change, so long as it makes sense from my perspective. Basically, I don't see a simple double-back on a ruling as substantially damaging to a game designers reputation as a whole, unless said ruling was completely rediculous in the first place. From my perspective, such a thing has only happened once (aside from repeated wacky rulings from CS), and I don't know that I'll ever look at Monte the same way again. I don't hold anything against him, but sheesh, that was a "what the heck was that?!" kind of ruling.

Besides... you NEVER slash like a woodcutter with your greataxe at enemies nor you swat them with a warhammer like flies. Doing so would get you killed (if your weapon does not break before).

I wasn't the one who got the mail, just read it posted here.

It sounded pretty much like a misunderstanding in the first answer... e.g. the part about not being able to sneak attack was misunderstood.

My point is questions like this one get asked over and over again sometimes because of poor choice of words in the ph. A better choice of words could prevent a lot of this confusion. But hey, we all make mistakes.
