Using two rapiers

My Psychic Weapon Master had a lot of fun with his Keen Vorpal +1 Scimitar of True Striking. His crit. was 10-20 so over half his hits were critical threats. Combined with Deep Impact it was quite effective.

... and if the DM isn't using a 3rd party product with an enhancement that is 'like vorpal but for piercing (or bludgeoning)'...

Ah, the mace of mashing...

"The evil priest swings his mace and... oh. Frank's head explodes."

Speaking of Vorpal, I'm glad that in 3.5e they changed it so that the effect only works on a natural 20. No more cutting people's heads off on a 12-20 roll.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

I don't know of many people who make weapons decisions based on the remote possibility of getting a particular magic weapon 3/4 of the way through their character's career, but other people may have different experiences.

If you're saying, "boy-howdy, that sure is a mild benefit," then sure, I agree. On the other hand, if you're a strength-based character, then the rapier's benefit (a few pounds lighter) is awfully mild as well.

If you're playing a dex-based character, get the rapier.
