This is what happens when government funds arts, education, etc. Government naturally assumes that when it takes money from citizens it has the right and obligation to tell the citizens how it shall be spent, not vice-versa. Keep national government out of the buisiness of funding arts and education and you don't have this sort of issue in the first place.

I just read somewhere recently that Boll approached Blizzard to direct a film pertaining to one of their games, but he was denied, heh. Hopefully Warcraft or Starcraft becomes a rip-roaring B movie at some point though...

I think when Blizzard was still looking at making a WoW movie (I've heard it's beens scrapped) they specifically stated that Boll wasn't allowed to make the movie.

I think Boll had said he wanted to do it, and Blizzard said absolutely not.
