Bow of the Wintermoon [Relic]
3,400gp (suitable for 8th level character)
Is a +1 comp. longbow if you are Chaotic Good, Neutral Good, or Chaotic Neutral. It always adjusts to the wielder's strength. If you Correllan and either sac a 5th level divine spell or have 9 HD and the True Believer feat it is also a frost and drow bane weapon.

I didn't remember that it was a relic. That messes up the pricing quite a bit.

It's a relic. You can't buy it in the Quick-E-Mart.
Depending on the campaign there may not be any Quick-e-marty. Yet relics are well known and characters may easily be able to work toward one.

The Animated Series Handbook that comes with the DVDs has an interesting variable strength bow. It is a +2 composite longbow that adjusts to the users strength, fires energy arrows (no miss chance for incorporeal creatures, ignores most DRs) for 2d6 damage, and allows power attacking with the bow. Wizards posted the full stats here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ask/20061227a

So it's a bow that makes it really easy to kill creatures, even though it was never used to kill? Interesting interpretation of the cartoon.
