Watched the season premiere last night, and enjoyed the heck out of it.

I knew there were multiple ways they were going to deal with the Venture Brothers' return, but

[sblock]THEY USED ALL OF THEM?!?!?![/sblock]

Sheer genius, and way to screw with the fans, Jackson! :)

Loved it.

I loved it when they ran a bump listing all the possible ways they could deal with what happened last season, and I realized that in the first 10 minutes of the episode they'd used at least half of those methods!

My fiancee thought it was hysterically funny that the opening sequence was all parodies of Eighties music videos. I unfortunately didn't get it - I didn't watch music videos much in the Eighties. :(

I love Dr. Orpheus. He is the most awesome character ever! :D

I thought it was a great episode. I was guessing that the boys would turn up alive with no explanation. I thought that might turn out to be a running gag with each season ending with the brothers being killed.

The only downside was that Dr. Girlfriend only had a cameo appearance. OTOH, King Gorilla was a great character. I hope he makes a return. I was surprised to see that the guy who voices Hank did his voice. I thought Doc Hammer (Dr. Girlfriend) was doing it.

Just some random thoughts:

It sounded to me like the speech Gorilla gave to Monarch about loving Dr. Girlfriend and never letting her go was the same one Dr. Girlfriend gave to Monarch about the Venture brothers during one of the early episodes (when Monarch had the boys kidnapped.

Was Dr. Venture meditating with Yeti during the opening sequence? Or were those monks wearing fur?

And what did White Noise say when they were planning the prison break? I couldn't make it out.

Looked like half yetis or ugly monks. I assumed it was a nod at the episode The New Adventures of Johnny Quest episode with the Yeti monks.

It was strange hearing Brock laughing during the
reminiscings of the boy's deaths
. There is a fine line between being a murder machine and that. It was amusing though

I get the feeling what happed in the season opener will shake Dr. Orpheus up to the point where he uses more attack spells.
