Vermin Druid

Anyone got thoughts on the Vermin Druid over at the WOTC site. Would you use it as is?

The ideas good but personally I can't understand the rule against attacking oozes and undead...

Oh and has anyone fixed the 3.5 Druid from the one buffed animal companion to become the old man and his menagerie again ...

1) There's a rule against attacking oozes and undead? I didn't notice it...

2) Well, the Swarm idea of the animal companion works...

For attacking unnatural critters, companions are normally taught 'tricks' to accomplish those, these buggy things don't learn that well.

Because vermin cannot normally learn tricks, a druid must establish an empathic link with a vermin companion. The range of this empathic link is line of sight. The link allows the druid and vermin to communicate needs back and forth, and it can be activated and suppressed at will by the druid. For game purposes, communication of needs is equivalent to directing the vermin to perform any of the following tricks: come, down, heel, or attack. Using empathic link to communicate with a vermin companion is a move action.

So they can't use a lot of complex tricks, but they can do the basics.

I LIKE Vermin druids. If only to make my Druids of Chern more fun to play with.

As for the swarm of companions no they have not fixed it but the buffed ones are not bad as you can still use handle animal to get more animals, to do what you want.
