And then, of course, he did. I loved the bizarre nature of his last line -- "I smell bread". How random.
It'sa M*A*S*H (tv show) reference.
I still can't believe they killed him off. It just seems like a character that was wasted. They teased around doing interesting things with him- interesting other than just having him be the butt of all the jokes, that is- with a few moments this season and last season (in particular the staking out of the Manning home; he seemed to take the charges of child abuse
very seriously, as opposed to so many other cases that crossd his desk.)
Plus, it just seemed such a throwaway. I could definitely see killing the character off, and even casually, but with everything else going on right now in Neptune, it just seemed an inopportune time (creatively) to do it, IMO.
I'll also echo Mustrum's note about Wallace being grossly underused (not to mention Weevil- was I the only one who wanted his job at Mars Investigations to work out?). The great supporting cast was always one of the big draws for me, and they've been very underused lately. What the heck was up with Dick's "I screwed up" moment to Logan at the end of Episode 1? We still don't know what that was all about (it seemed specific, but maybe it was just a general cry for help?)
The Logan/Parker budding romance(?) seemed a bit forced and rushed here- let's hope it's not all that it seems. And let's hope it doesn't push Veronica into the arms of (ugh!) Piz. That guy just bugs me- he seems like he'd be an okay character in his own right, but he's been too heavily played up (IMO) as the next love interest at the expense of any more organic character development.
