Vicious Weapon vs. DR

Does the 1d6 damage the wielder takes from a vicious weapon bypass DR? It doesn't specify, so my gut instinct is no, but that means that in my upcoming campaign I'll be faced with a PC who can wield such a weapon without any adverse effects (he'll have DR 6/bludgeoning and magic.)

DR does not protect against energy damage dealt along with an attack.

The Vicious weapon's damage results from 'a flash of disruptive energy'.

Looks like DR doesn't help to me.

DR never protects against energy-based damage - that's what energy (fire, cold, etc) resistance is for.

Moreover, a vicious weapon deals untyped energy damage. No energy resistance protects against it. That is largely the point. Your enemy can't avoid being harmed by it, but neither can you.
