I've never seen anyone in my 3x groups make or use a wand oddly enough. None of the players really grock the rules that well. Scrolls are really rare too. The DM doesn't give them as treasure and people prefer to spend money on permanent items.

In play we tend to rely on a lot of beatstick fighter types that rely on inate abilities. When they run low they flee and recharge. It helps that they are ardent min maxers as well

I rarely if ever see battlefield healing other than a stabilize.

Wands are ways for most wizards to extend their resources and appropriately cast their spells. Party buffs and healing are one thing but I wouldn't pay or charge for wand uses such as magic missiles or fireballs, ect.
Oh, I agree whole heartedly. If the crafter is a wizard who is using a wand to extend his spell life, the burden of the wand is entirely on himself. Again, it comes down to use. Party benefits means party expenditure.

How much does the party pay the caster for crafting the wand? How much is his xp worth?
Again, depends on how the wand is being used. If it is a party wand, that is a wand that the whole party can directly benefit from, then the XP is the crafter's contribution to creating the wand and the monetary amount is split by the rest of the party.

Bah. Masterwork, shmasterwork. That doesn't count. :P
Yes it does. You were just going on how little opportunity there is in current Paizo/WotC adventures for a weapon/armor to be sundered.

You were just given one, in your own campaign.

A share of the loot goes to the Party- healing wands, scrolls, etc are made out of that. XP cost soaked up by whom ever makes it.

Our party generally carries Restoration scrolls, and such on their individual gear list- "I need a restoration if you have one. No- okay, here's a scroll."

Costly components are carried or supplied by the group or as the above scroll suggestion carried by the individual party members. Fighters with 250 gp worth of diamond dust mixed in with some granite dust so the wizard will cast stone skin on him- ya, it happens.

Our rogue handed over diamonds for Revivify just recently- then asked for them back when the Cleric got Party loot that included diamonds for just that purpose (it was not part of his share, but a planned division).

Thing that I like to consider now a days is that this loot you speak of it make believe, its not real, so why get all bent out of shape about it. Why not share? This is a team hobby, not an individual trying to best those people around him by collecting more make believe items. You do not win if you have more stuff then you fellow players.

Have fun, supply your cleric with components, hand over a wand of Magic Missiles to the wizard- "just don't sell it," should be stated if the Player has a history of doing so.

I can't imagine doing any of the things in the poll. No one in my group is ever expected to pay for individual charges from a wand, regardless of whether it's a party wand or an individual possession. If the party chips in for anything it's toward the creation/purchase cost of the wand.

I was going on about magic items. It's much easier to sunder nonmagical items.

That's actually one of the options in the poll.

Takasi, let me ask you, what does your cleric actually bring to the group? It doesn't sound like you're a combat guy and you provide healing after much cajoling from your fellow party members.... so how do you contribute?

He is a cleric of planning and protection. He casts shield other on as many party members as he can handle and then heals himself (he's one of the biggest users of the wand). He also uses divine ward to cast sanctuary at range on party members when necessary.

Long term plans are pretty much the same with heightened sanctuaries and spell focus abjuration. He gets time stop at high levels, so he'll be able to absorb a lot of hit points and heal himself multiple times per round.
