Wands and rogues...

A quick question in regards to wands used by rogues for the use magic device skill. To use a wand is there any use magic device check? If so, what is the DC? I assume it depends on the spell from the wand. For instance what about a wand of magic missiles, or a wand of cure light wounds? Does the DC lower if the character is multiclassed with a class that has said spell on its spell list etc? Any help you could provide would be great :)

If the character is multiclassed with a class that has said spell on its spell list, then no use magic device check is required - it is automatic.
Otherwise, the Use Magic Device, and attempt the Emulate Spell Ability, with a DC of 20. You never need to get higher than 20 (this gives you caster level 0, and that's all you need for a wand: this is explicitly described under the relevant section in the Use Magic Device skill description).

The DC 20 is correct, though that is assuming you know what the Wand is (i.e. you bought it or it's been identified). Otherwise, it's a DC 25 to activate blindly. If you are able to once, that DC drops by 2 to activate it blindly again. Identifying it gives you the command word, so once you get that, then it is, indeed, a DC 20.

Good catch.
