Spielberg's War of the Worlds movie looks like a Signs-remake - plus visuals of the invasion, minus the religious stuff. It might actually work...
My sentiments exactly.
OTOH, it's still a teaser trailer, so it's pretty standard that it doesn't show much.

I believe Steven is running with the old premise from the radio show...just vague descriptions, can set the imagination to run wild. Hence the term "teaser". The look, a word, a reaction, incredible damage to property shown, without showing the true cause...builds suspense and fear!

.But yeah...not everyone has Speilberg's niche for stuff like this.

I think its still too early to judge how close this is to the book. Its updated to the current time, so that's a change in itself(and one that doesn't both me), but beyond that the trailers haven't given us much to go on.Krieg said:
