D&D (2024) Warlock cantrips

This is the dumbest argument on here. Someone asked because there entire group was unsure, all I said was you could read it either way and it isn't major power boost to do it.
I'm the one that defended your argument earlier because I thought you were misstating your argument, and were trying to argue Rules as Intended (RAI) instead of Rules as Written (RAW). But you are still arguing from a RAW perspective. I'm sorry but there is no way to get to your interpretation using RAW.

I agree that some people might want Warlock spells to be chosen that way, and that it makes sense to some that it should be that way. But to say that the written rule in the playtest is unclear? Nope. That's just a willfully argumentative stance.

I'm getting sick of this, I didn't say RAI or RAW was one thing... I said "I could understand thinking either. that;s it.

What I am saying (AGAIN AND AGAIN) is that I can see someone reading it and walking away with either... especially with the weird make mult deals thing

In Magic The Gathering, the line is often "Reading the Card explains the Card". And tbh, this seems very self-explanatory, the Cantrip section states:
Cantrips. You know two cantrips of your choice from the Arcane spell list. Rather than choosing, you may start with Chill Touch and Prestidigitation. Whenever you gain a Warlock level, you can replace one of your cantrips with another Arcane cantrip of your choice.
When you reach 4th and 10th level in this class, you learn another Arcane cantrip of your choice, as shown in the Cantrips column of the Warlock table.
Bolded for emphasis. Those pact cantrips are not on the Arcane spell list. Neither are they on the Divine or Primal spell lists. So the only way to get them is from the Pact Boon class feature. So at this point it seems like a failure of reading comprehension, which is understandable, but not something I feel is a valid argument.

What is funnier, and probably legal is a 2014 Warlock which does draw from the Warlock spell list. And these are Warlock spells. But I don't want to get into a compatibility argument here

Cantrips

You know two cantrips of your choice from the warlock spell list. You learn additional warlock cantrips of your choice at higher levels, as shown in the Cantrips Known column of the Warlock table.

now if this new book REALLY is just an add on not a replacment that means those cantrips are AOKAY for old warlock builds.

That doesn't mean that there are zero magic items. It means that the balance point is different from the practical play experience, which is a bad thing.
I've played tens of thousands of hours and have yet to see a +X weapon

Your practical experience shouldn't be assumed to be a standard

Except that those cantrips aren't on the Warlock Spell List as such a thing doesn't exist in the UA
