Warlock eldtritch blast

Um, but penetrating SR is based on caster level, not level of the effect. So that ruling makes no change to spell penetration rolls.

It makes a big difference to the Spell Immunity spell, though :)

Sure, but not the question at hand. :p

;)

Now, I don't have the book in front of me, so I may not be remembering clearly. But doesn't the rule state that the level of the Blast is either 1, or the level of any essence or shape invocation attached to it, whichever is highest?

Right, which is what I meant above when talking about Lesser Globe.

So you might be able to Quicken your Eldritch Blast, but not your Vitriolic Blast, say.

(And having the book wouldn't help, since it's in the errata anyway ;) )

Cool. That's what I thought, but without the book handy to confirm, I wanted to be sure I was remembering properly.

Has everyone here forgotten Eldritch Chain?

Per the original question, the 20th level warlock uses one standard action to launch 9d6 into his first target, then half that into each of four secondary targets. Instead of 27d6 as three attacks in a full-round action (which isn't possible, but what people here seem to think he should be able to do), he's doing 27d6 as five attacks in a standard action. In a target-poor environment he can suffer, but I don't see the big deal. I would prefer to be able to do 27d6 and move 30' instead of doing 27d6 and moving 5'.

You want to shoot a lot of Eldritch Blasts per round?

Take the Leadership feat.

Cohort: Warlock
Followers: Warlocks, every damned one of them.

Since Warlocks can be built with high charisma (they don't have to be, but they can) very effectively, this synergizes to allow for more, and more powerful, warlock cohort/followers, and thus more, and more powerful, extra Eldritch Blasts per round.

Incidentally, Warlock will never be the red-headed step child of the arcanists as long as there is the Wu Jen. :)

That reminds me of a Cheesy Munchkin Adventures character I was thinking of making. Leadership, Sidekick (d20 past), and a cool trio of Feats from Adventure! d20. Something like 3 billion total friends, followers, and cohort/sidekicks (and friends, followers, and cohort/sidekicks of the friends, followers, and cohort/sidekicks). I think I didn't build it because I didn't want to break the DM.
