Warlock's Shadow Walk Ability in Combat?

The Warlock's Shadow Walk Ability says:

"On your turn, if you move at least 3 squares away from where you started your turn, you gain concealment until the end of your next turn."

Now under Stealth it says:

Cover or Concealment: Unless a creature is distracted, you must have cover against or concealment from the creature to make a Stealth check.

Success: You avoid notice, unheard and hidden from view. If you later attack or shout, you’re no longer hidden.

Now in the FAQ thread it says that CSR has said you can use the Warlock's Shadow Walk ability to make stealth check, even during the move after an attack.

So does the warlock simply fade invisible if it succeeds on it's Stealth check vs the observer(s)?

He's not invisible, he's just hidden, there is a difference. I'm not sure if you meant it that way or not.

Either way if you didn't beat his stealth check with your perception check you can't see the Warlock and he gets CA against you as per the Stealth Skill?

concealment

remember it is not Total concealment.

How would one represent it. Maybe describe a shadowy, unspecified area of the room? That is, vs an enemy warlock?

I'd treat it like Granny Weatherwax's ability to fade into the foreground. It's not that you can't see him, but that you just don't notice him. Not unless you're really perceptive anyway.

It depends on the pact. Fey pact? You are hidden by illusory camouflage. Infernal pact? You are shrouded in darkness. Star pact? Space bends around your eyewateringly non-euclidean geometry so you appear to be not there. Well, you are there, but not in the regular 3 dimensions.

Ever seen Desperado?

It's kind of like how, in the first scene, the shadows always manage to cover Antonio Banderas' eyes. It's the same thing only on a grander scale.

Just as an aside, you have to move 3 squares to activate the warlock's shadow walk ability, so you take a -5 penalty to stealth rolls. (For moving more than 2 squares). So its basically making an untrained stealth check.
