Warlord Vs Rouge

I have found D&D to be interesting and am looking to join some friends in play it but i can't decide between a warlord or a rouge. i have a good idea of what I'd do as ether but can't really decide, becuase one part of me wants cunning and stealth and the other wants tactics and strength. unfortunately i can't get both as one. so can anyone advise on this.

Both are rather dependent on positioning and coordination with allies - the rogue for flanking, and the warlord for pretty much everything. If people won't be inclined to take your tactical suggestions seriously, then the warlord will probably be somewhat unsatisfying - the rogue can usually make do as long as monsters get into melee with someone other than you.

What else does the group have? If you can't decide on your own because both options seem attractive, the needs of the group can make up your mind for you.

Rogues are pretty cool, but I have not seen a warlord in play yet, I suspect that they work best with a large party.

I've spent more time playing a rogue (specifically an elven rogue) than any other 4E class, and I love her. I enjoy her mobility and ability to deal lots of damage.

I have played a warlord for one or two sessions, and I did not enjoy him at all. I just felt impotent, like I could do nothing, but augment others. That's teh leader's role you say? Well, yeah, but I've also played a few sessions as a cleric, and I found that more rewarding than my time as a warlord.

You're entering dangerous territory whenever you combine warlords with makeup.

We had a horrible warlord + mascara incident in our game. I can only imagine what would have happened had rouge also been involved.

i like to be Mr. Tactics during a fight, so I'd lean towards the warlord for myself... but two people in my group are playing rogues, and they absolutely love them. Do you like to inflict damage, or help other people inflict it? That's pretty much what it comes down to.

The choice seems pretty clear to me.

One is a PC class, and the other is a shade of red.

I don't even know how you'd role-play rouge.
