Warlove? Warhate?

The New Warlord:

  • I pretty much like it.

  • I don't like it all that much.

The new classes (and races) give us more options to explore, I like that. Warlord looks fresh and I'd like to give it a try, but I'm curious to see how it develops through the tiers.

The only thing I don't like is that there are three "w" classes in the PHB. On top of that, two "war" classes. You'd think with even a simple thesaurus they'd have something better, not to mention the sum total of human languages to draw from.

It's worse than that. There are two "warlo" classes.

Actually, I think I'm naming my next character Warlo.

It's interesting, but doesn't seem like a very good fit for for D&D. If I were playing D&D purely as a tactical simulation (a wargame, essentially) I think it would work fine. However, for an RPG, the powers do seem to assume a lot about what's going on, and how characters react to the "orders" of the Warlord. I think I'll have to see how it works in play before I make a real decision on what I think of it.

Well, if you weren't being sarcastic, then perhaps you could explain how the "Warlord is the Simulationist Roleplayer's dream come true!"
I would say that it is finally a class that isn't devoted to either magical buffing or simply trying to score as many kills by itself. But instead helps the party work together as a team, like a party would in real instances.

Yes, this is a binary poll...if you are still on the fence about the Warlord (as most of us are, since the books haven't been released yet), just vote in the direction you are leaning.
how about some "hate its guts, wouldn't urinate on it if it was on fire" options then?

Of course not.
Is that sarcasm?
