Water Problems [DM: Voda Vosa; Judge: Kalidrev!]

[sblock= Frost, Myoko, GM] "I can't think of any way this will be made better by waiting around," Myoko agreed. She moved up, staying close behind the shifter, ready for a fight... [/sblock]

[sblock=Torqua Vardaal Kavac and DM] "Gods damnit, we got more bugs!" Torqua cries as the insect-like monsters appear from out of the darkness. Sidestepping to the right, the fat sorceress summons an orb of acid and throws it at one of the maggots. Hitting it, the maggot melts away in front her eyes.

OOC: Moving to L11 and using Acid Orb against one of the larvae. I'm guessing I hit unless these larvae are different from the others we fought.
1d20+3=18 Vs Ref. [/sblock]

[sblock=Torqua Vardaal Kavac and DM]
"Don't run at them, make them come to us" Vardaal says to Kavac, adding "Keep them in front, away from Torqua" the bugbear steps up next to Kavac, his new blade gripped tightly.

Absence alert: I'm taking a few days of vacation from the first time since like 2 years, so I'll be away until the 19 of january. So we'll resume this in a week. If I have some time tomorrow I'll post an update.

[sblock=Frost and Myoko]
The pair walks cautiously around the corner of the cave, and as the light of the sunrod illuminates the new area, both can see the origin of the noises. A swarm of centipeds are devouring what is left of an Ankheg larva.
As the light hits the vermin, they shift unsettled before turning to the mercenaries!

[sblock=Torqua Vardaal and Kavac]
The overweighted sorceres sends a pulse of acid that takes care of one of the larvae, melting the helpless vermin in a puddle of green ooze. Vardaal and Kavac stand ready, while the vermin advance. However, they are still not at range. Torqua is able to cast another spell until the creatures reach the warriors.

Torqua can cast another spell before the vermin reach Vardaal and Kavac.

Vardaal charges forward with a howl, slashing the new blade hard into the lead ankheg, the blow inspires him to slash again, but the weapon skitters harmlessly across the armored hide. He continues to fight though and throws all his weight behind a massive slash that just is deflected by the enemy.

Standard: charge to N9 Howling Strike on DA 1d20+9=29, 2d4+1d6+5=14 Crit! hits for 29 damage and it triggers rampage (another basic melee attack)
2d4+1d6=10 <- Extra crit damage
vs ac; dmg (1d20+8=11, 2d4+5=7) Likely a miss
AP: Avalanche Strike on DA - vs ac; dmg (1d20+8=17, 6d4+8=16) TENT all attackers get a +4 bonus to hit Vardaal...that's like the minimum damage... and I think that's just a miss...oh dear this is going to hurt...

[sblock=Torqua Vardaal Kavac and DM] "Didn't realize you were quite the tactician, Vardaal." Torqua notes as she side-steps right in front of the insect horde. "But I've got a hunger for cooked bug, so if you excuse me.."

And with the that, the fat sorceress takes a deep breath, causing her to swell with arcane power, and then like mighty dragon, she breathe out a storm of fire, turning 3 of the giant maggots into ash.

OOC: Moving to L11 and using Burning Spray to attack all the bugs. Attacks Vs Ref in the following order: DA, DL1, DL2, DL3, DL4.

1d20+3=7, 1d20+3=19, 1d20+3=13, 1d20+3=20, 1d20+3=16

I kill DL1, DL3 and DL4. Yay.

[sblock= Frost, Myoko, GM] "This is going to be a problem," Myoko growled. "Wish that sorceress was here to help deal with these little beasties..." Even as she grumbled, she took a few careful steps forward, trying to steady her stance on the muddy ground. Then she gripped her new spear, and waited for the insects to make their move...

OOC: I hate swarms- especially when we have no area effect damage. Myoko will move to W6, trying to help Frost block the narrowest point of the passage (into the difficult terrain space). Then she will Ready an action to attack the swarm with Furious Smash (trigger is swarm moving into an adjacent space). Attack is +7 vs. Fort= 22 (probably hit) ; roll Roll Lookup ; if it hits, deal 2 damage (was 5, halved for swarm), and Frost gets a +2 to hit and damge on his next attack against the swarm.
